We had an amazing stay at Aluna. It's a perfect location if you're looking for somewhere a bit quieter and more relaxing in Nungwi, but still very walkable along the beach to bars and restaurants. The room was a great size, comfortable and good air conditioning, and the food at both the hotel restaurant and the beach club was exceptional. Plus the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming too. Highly recommend staying here!

Pessima esperienza in questo posto! Abbiamo prenotato la suite con idromassaggio e mezza pensione, pagato quasi 1.500 euro per una settimana e non avevamo nemmeno la corrente per far andare un ventilatore!! La scusa è stata che tutta nungwi aveva problemi di corrente ok ma i generatori dell’hotel non bastavano per far funzionare i servizi base pagati e stra-pagati! Abbiamo cenato con pesce (a pagamento perché fuori menù della mezza pensione) e sono venuti a chiederci se se era tutto ok al che mi è venuto il dubbio che nemmeno i frigo/congelatori funzionassero bene! Ok che siamo in Africa ma se mi proponi certi servizi vorrei che fossero tali altrimenti pago 50 euro e vado nella catapecchia

This hotel was just perfect! We had such a lovely time at Maisha. The room was extremely clean and well presented. The hotel itself was beautiful and the beach/ beach bar was only a very quick 2 minute walk away. Everything was amazing and we will definitely be back again soon! Thank you

Very nice accommodation, 2 little but nice swimming pool. Very green with lot of beautiful trees and flowers. A little walk to the beach (2 minutes) where another Maisha restaurant was located. Good sunset viewing and good food and drinks. You put them also on you room number account. The staff was very friendly and helpfull. It was safe and for 3 dollars they take you by tuktuk to nungwi beach or town.

Vacker, lummig miljö - som att bo i en djungel med två pooler. Rummen var fräscha, sängarna sköna. Trevlig personal, och god mat i restaurangen. Vi var väldigt nöjda med vår vistelse!

Lovely, calm hotel, situated away from the busy touristic area. The nicely overgrown garden creates a cosy atmosphere and invites to sit next to one of the two pools. The beach is a 2 min. walk away where the hotel also has a very nice beach restaurant. This beach is not touristic and you find mainly local people there, playing football and fishing. The staff is absolutely wonderful, very polite and friendly. The hotel organized a a driver for us to explore the island. To get to the other side of the town you can go by taxi or by tuctuc or walk for aprox. 30 min. Breakfast was a la carte plus a little buffet with fruit, juices and coffee, at the beach restaurant they serve e.g. grilled fish, a very nice vegetable curry and burger. There is also some entertainment organised there on some weekdays.

I enjoyed my stay in Maisha Nungwi very much. The whole hotel is clean and offers a nice shadow in the daily heat. I especially enjoyed in two lovely pools beside hotel, where I had a relaxing time. I loved the location as well. The hotel is located near the beach in Nungwi, but it's still quiet and peaceful. The breakfast was delicious and I enjoyed it very much. The food at the beach bar (lunch and dinner) offers more variety of food than the one at the pool. The most amazing thing about Maisha is their staff. Because of them Maisha trully my home away from home. I hope the management will pass along my feedback to all. I am beyond grateful for their kindness and honest smile they gave me every day. I would like to thank them all. Especially to: Muba at the reception for his devotion and ability to listen, Brenda for the best massage (girl with magic hands and the biggest heart), Abu, Eva and Radjab at pool/beach bar. Because of you my stay with you was perfect. I felt really welcome here. Asante.🙏

Really nice place, extremely recommended. Small enough to be quiet and cozy, big enough to give you the possibility of relaxing (two swimming pools to relax; two restaurants: one in the resort, one at the beach). The personnel was extremely nice and helpful. The resort is located in the north part of the island, and at the moment is the last resort/hotel toward the east side. This allowed us not to be in the middle of the touristic area, but at the same time to reach the most famous beaches with 10-15 minutes of walking on the beach. What we also appreciated is the possibility of still experiencing the tides (and, as said, with a few minutes of walking still reaching beaches where you do not have it). The restaurant on the beach is open during the day and it is an amazing place to relax if you want a cold drink or to read a book. The turtle aquarium is close by, and once a year they do the "turtle release" day (we luckily managed to take part in it). We would 100% come back.
