Muthu Alexandra Hotel

All the front desk personnel are the best asset this hotel has. The place could do with an update of their appliances and furniture in their rooms. Soft furnishings are ok. The cleanliness could be a bit better. They lent me slippers so I could use the steam room and it was a great addition to my stay. Overall I give the place a 3/5.

When we got there we had missed the dinner time but very kind dly they gave us some starters! The hotel was very nice and staff were amazing ! Very clean a d great location! Definitely will be visiting g again!

Nice hotel pool wasn't opened mind you. Breakfast was magic

Staff amazingly friendly and helpful. Pool is very good to relax. Location is very central, walking distance to center and ferry port.

This is a great hotel right next to the quieter end of the esplanade at Oban . We were fortunate enough to have very good room as part of our package. The room had a big window overlooking the vista of Oban and Islands. The room was well decorated and had great facilities. There was a good fast shower and a comfortable bed. Although not far from road or railway we did not experience undue noise and slept well. The food was very good with great choices with an English with Scottish flavour breakfast buffet and a good menu for evening meals. The staff were also excellent from the moment we were greeted on our arrival until we left, nothing was too much trouble. Service at reception and at table was quick and cheerful. All staff cheerful and efficient, keeping us informed as to progress if there were any delays. However Alice was the one who stood out. She was always cheerful, always busy, greeted us on each arrival and remembered us from last year. A joy to have serving us We enjoyed a great stay and would definitely recommend it

I am a local resident in the town and have been using the steam room facilities for around 3 years it's allways cost £10 for a swim and a steam or £5 for a steam only. Over the years they sometimes try to charge me the £10 but when I explain I'm only using the steam room and after a txt message to whomever it's allways £5. However today I was told by three members of staff and a manager that it was £10 for the steam room and allways had been and I shouldn't have been charged £5 on any of my around 400 visits over 3 years.

I was stuck in the staff quarters , which was chalets behind the hotel , which they didn't explain that well Due to the storm the door of the room banged all night due to the wind Really poor lighting outside and no way to get to the front but walking right around the building in the pitch black Bed was really uncomfortable and didn't get a wink of sleep all night Glad to leave in the morning

Nice looking hotel, nice lounge and restaurant, reception staff nice but not enough staff on, bar and drinks limited , not much choice of beer. Buffet breakfast good, food hot, warmed plates, restaurant menu limited and not enough waiting on staff. Used swimming pool one afternoon, nice and quiet for a swim. Had twin room, basic but OK, dated furniture etc, mattress comfortable. Shower over bath, OK, water hot

The hotel looks good from outside, good location but inside was horrible we knew this hotel was dated but this didn’t bother us. Bed very uncomfortable and no mattress protector on one of the beds! They were put together and no bed thong to keep beds in place as I used to work in hotel industry and this is what should have been done. Bed very hard woke up with really sore back. Bathroom floor was foul smelling of urine and also found toe nail and crumbs on first night of stay, not worth £115 a night breakfast very basic and was informed pool was closed when was actually open, night porter was also trying to sell alcohol to my partner and charge him £15 for two bottles of beer after 11.30 pm staff not there to help or guide us on our visit and maid was too busy on her phone to clean the room.
