Valamar Argosy Hotel

The hotel was in a great location a bus ride away from the Old Town. Activities are advertised and can be booked at the hotel. It was great for a short stay, amazing views, very clean and relaxing spa.

Amazing hotel! We just had B&B but there are loads of bars and restaurants nearby! 10 min Uber journey which cost approx €8 to get into Dubrovnik old town. The breakfast was phenomenal! The balconies are quite small but the room was otherwise perfection and all the staff were so friendly! Amazing pool and pool views, would 100% go back again!

A really wonderful experience at this beautiful hotel, as alluded to by other reviewers the views across the bay are stunning and would be hard to beat almost anywhere, and watching the cruise liners majestically coming and going adds to the splendour. The management should be commended for the building and nurturing of a wonderful team of people right across the hotel, all members of staff are a credit to the valamar brand. A personal thanks goes to the concierge team. My wife and I are in a year of celebrations and I requested to have some flowers in our room on our arrival which I was of course happy to pay for. Not only did we have the most beautiful bouquet but also a bottle of wine and both were complimentary, a very classy touch. Dubrovnik is a vibrant and fascinating city, and one of the many benefits of staying at the valamar argosy is you are a very short distance away, we went three times on our stay at differing times of day, it's worth checking which days cruise liners are docked at the port, as these days are the busiest. A fantastic 10 days of relaxation, luxury and culture in beautiful Croatia, highly recommend.

This location is about a 10 min drive from the old city. Given how crowded Dubrovnik can get in the summer, I enjoyed being a few minutes away. It's very easy to get an Uber or bus into the city when you want to. The pools overlooking the Adriatric are beautiful and the views of the sunset are phenomenal. The beach is located at a sister hotel, so you do need to pay a minor fee if you'd like chairs and an umbrella there (we paid 15euro for 2 people for the day). There are lots of delicious choices at the included breakfast buffet.

Easy check in and check out. Excellent breakfast spread incl fresh omelettes/eggs. Beautiful pool area with spectacular views. Lots of sun loungers. Nice bar service by the pool. Rooms were good size, excellent air con and shower. Wifi was very good. Uber was easy - took 25 mins to Old Town, 10 mins to Lapad, and 45 mins to airport.

Arrived a he hotel after hanging around in the airport for an hour as another couple didn’t show. Big line to check in, 1 clerk. Eventually get to the desk to be told the room won’t be ready for check in for a further 2 hours. Confirmed the room id booked for 3 k at this hotel. Superior with sea view to be told no it’s a park view No map for the hotel, no welcome drink water or coffee. Not advised what to do whilst we wait, in travelling clothes, female clerk rude and indifferent, wouldn’t recommend this hotel and I haven’t even see the room yet 😡

Very friendly staff that were quick and happy every time we came!!! Great food as well in Olivas Grill and breakfast at the all you can eat restaurant. I ate multiple times at Olivas grill the food was unreal as I had pizza, burgers and more. The pool area is great with loads of sun loungers around two different pools. Its perfect for older families (children over 15) and couples. The rooms are great and have a great atmosphere on a night with live music.

Room very good.very clean hotel. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Very good atmosphere in hotel best place to relax. Excellent cleaning staff and sever are very friendly and good also very polite. They are quite places where you can relax.

Me and my boyfriend spent 10 amazing nights at the Valamar argosy hotel- only about 30 mins from Dubrovnik airport- our room was lovely, the staff were so friendly, helpful - shout out to Matija the waiter who was really friendly and chatty and helpful! The breakfast buffet is amazing also, everything you could want from fry ups to yoghurt to fruit to croissants! Loved it- and the dinner also amazing, was excited to see what they had on offer every evening - I do recommend half board - a buffet dinner- amazing! The views from the hotel pool are some of the most beautiful I have ever witnessed and the sunset is insane!! The pool area is all you could want, with towels on hand if you forget one- and the Oliva restaurant for snacks and Lunch! ( bit pricey tho!) i reccomend walking to Lapad from the hotel- it doesn’t take too long maybe 20 mins and the views are lush, there is a promenade there and a beach :) down the road from the hotel is the copacabana beach, swimming in the sea is just bliss, so warm !!! And the old town, ahhhhh BEAUTIFUL! Busy! But it is lush, the number 6 bus by the hotel is every 10 mins and is €2 each ( you can’t get a return ticket but that’s ok, way cheaper than England!!!) and it’s €2 anywhere ( lapad , old town) with that number 6 bus :) if you want gorgeous views, relaxation, sun and the best time ever deffo go!! there is music in the hotel each evening, a local live act , a nice touch :) oh and there’s about 5-6 cats that roam around the hotel that they feed, they are friendly and are living the life only I can dream of ! Will definitely be coming back !!!!!
