I made a reservation here nearly a month ago to attend the Orlando Improv Festival where I was performing with my team on Sunday. After a 3 1/2 hour drive from home Saturday afternoon I arrived ready to check in and enjoy an evening of improv nearby. As I waited as others checked in before me, I scrolled through my emails and noticed my room reservation had been cancelled an hour before! I don't check my email while driving so I had no way of knowing this. I could have listened to a text. They had my cell number but didn't bother to text. I asked the Guest Services manager, Dominick about my room, he said he had no record of it and that they were completely full. I showed him the original confirmation and the room cancellation so he took a little time to search the computer records and saw my name but still had no room! Two of my team mates had cancelled their room earlier that day but there was nothing for me. He offered to check around at their sister hotels and call me. I left there for the festival at 7:30 and had my wife at home scour the area for a room for me. She managed to find a non-cancellable one at the Ramada Inn approximately a half hour away. I left the festival at 10 to drive there and check in when Dominick called me saying that I suddenly had a room! I thanked him and told him I already found another. As an aside, the Red Roof Inn was conveniently located approximately 1/2 mile from the theatre so I could have walked if they had a room for me. But, by the looks of the homeless and vagrants all over the place, I would not have liked to be in that neighborhood after dark. The Ramada in Alamonte Springs had a safer neighborhood but was a 30 minute drive.
