very disappointed that this hotel states they require $100 deposit to check in (this is not listed on website or reservation). This was not anticipated and although I only stayed 1 night, this $100 is still absent from my bank account and I had to adjust finances accordingly. I was told this was new policy as of 2/1/24 - and required for possible damages. Although The halls and room was overall free from debris, but there was overall unpleasant odor in halls and in the room. Bed was uncomfortable and not enough blankets for comfort. I thought there was no trash can anywhere in room, bathroom or little kitchenette, so my paper garbage was piled on the table in my room. When preparing to check out, I randomly found 1 little trash can inside a cabinet in the kitchenette. Shouldn’t there at least be trash can in the bathroom? Finally, when I called to request a 1 hour late check out, the staff member stated they would have to take money from my unanticipated $100 deposit. I felt that to be very un customer service friendly. If it was because of bookings, that’s a more legitimate reason to deny a very slight late check out. I honestly can’t remember any hotel that has not been flexible with late check out when needed for personal reasons. So, overall disappointed - especially for such low quality facility that does not match the room rates and very unnecessary $100 deposit (my credit card was file for potential “damages” coverage)
