A wonderful experience! This is a beautiful hotel with really lovely staff who are friendly and polite. I'm from Britain so a few of my comments might be particularly suited for British travellers but having benefitted from many previous comments on this site, here are some hopefully helpful ones for others: * Fantastic location. Literally beside the station - using the Bjorvika exit you get to the taxi rank and look up...the hotel name is in huge red letters...very easy! It's also a 2 minute walk from the Opera House where you can walk and sit on the roof. I enjoyed taking a sandwich and drink up there to sit and admire the view whilst having some food (obviously taking rubbish away with me back to the hotel!). * Despite being by the station it was really quiet. I did ask specifically for a quiet room and they obliged...giving me one on the inside of the square shaped building. No view but I didn't need one, I'd rather it be quiet! Occasionally you could hear other guests but nothing like I’ve heard in other hotels so soundproofing is pretty good. * Breakfast as previously commented is extensive and delicious, much of it homemade I think. I could have spent all morning in there! As a tea-obssessed Brit I was grateful there were teapots available to use with a machine! On the Saturday morning one of the waitresses brought round "energy shots" (carrot, ginger and lime) which was amusing...I was about to do one of the Oslo parkruns so tried it though not sure it made much difference! Breakfast is in the large restaurant area on the 3rd floor. * Access up and down is easy by the lifts though you have to remember to swipe your card to be able to select a floor! * They still have the policy that if you hang the green card on your door that says not to bother cleaning your room, they will leave you a voucher to use in the bar/restaurant downstairs or for the minibar in your room. I gained 2 vouchers for the days I was there (58,- each) which covered a soft drink and some crisps in the lovely bar on the ground floor where the staff were wonderful. * At reception when checking in they kindly provided a bottle of water (not part of the minibar). If you aren’t already aware of the system of recycling bottles and cans with local stores check it out – you may find it saves you money if buying other bottles of water. * The minibar has crisps, chocolate, Pepsi, wine etc with a price list. I had a kettle in my room which was great and free teabags were provided (I picked up another couple at breakfast as I wasn’t having my room serviced). There was a fridge which was great and there is a small convenience store a 5 minute walk up the road (turn left out of the hotel) where I got some milk for my tea (no milk provided – luckily I had a couple of sachets stored away from my tea from Burger King in the airport to get me started!). * Final tip. Plenty of good transport links from the road outside the hotel (Bjorvika) as well as the station. I found the Ruter a
