I bought a 60-square-meter room. I estimated that the upper and lower floors were about 40 square meters. I don't know how the usable area of hotels in Japan is calculated.

Facilities, services, and standards are mediocre. The room was cramped for 4 people and the food was personally the worst. The public bath is too small. The strange clothes worn inside the ryokan are made too uncomfortable. I don't think I will visit twice.

The property is properly located at a quite neighborhood for people looking for privacy. Well renovated yet a bit modern as compare to other onsen ryokan in Japan. Staffs are super polite, helpful and considerate, exceeds most 5 stars hotel standard. The food over there are nice and the presentation is superb. It is just like an art...Each guest room has its own in-room onsen. Due to limited guest rooms, the public onsen is like private onsen most of the time. My family has an amazing stay there. Looking forward to re-visit the venue again if I come around Otaru area next time.
