Mount Etjo Safari Lodge

The hotel is beautiful and staying there was quite nice. We did the half day game drive (PM) which included sundowner and we highly recommend it. The staff service though was a mix, some were very nice and others seemed like they were not enjoying their job much, which of course didn’t feel so good. In general it was good value for money.

Excellent from the moment you arrive it's just paradise ! Lush green grass welcoming by 'afternoon tea' Game drives excellent seeing an abundance of game. It's a luxury camp and the meals are delicious. Fancy a Impala stew ? Or cheesecake on the lawn ? Plus unique Lion feed experience after dinner. Sunrise and sunset game drives not to be missed, a Sundowners viewing elephants, giraffe, Springboks, Eland, jackals, Kudu and more giraffe very close by.

This was my second stay at Mt Etjo but my partners first. I wanted to take her here as she was jealous that I had the opportunity 2 years ago during work travel to Namimbia. There was only one room type left which was the Villa. This room is so massive and private. Separate massive lounge and dining area with wood fire. An internal braii / firepit area and a massive bathroom (and a second smaller one). There was a very large deck, private pool and jaccuzzi. A 180 degree view from the lounge, bedroom, deck, pool, jaccuzzi of the lake in front and plenty of wildlife and birds. We took 3 safari drives 2 late pm and 1 am which was a private one. There was plenty of food at dinner and breakfast (which was included in the room rate). My only negatives, we didn't see any lions / cats (not Mt Etjo's fault, just luck of the draw), the only negative was there was a lack of meat options in the evening meal. Last time I visited, there were multiple options of the different game, not just the one. Totally recommend this lodge.

We had the last day before going back to Windhoek in the Mount Echo Lodge topped by a very nice afternoon Safari and an amazing lion feeding at night. Also, this stop in the school in the morning next day it was especially for our kids a very nice and interesting activity…. Dinner was great with a very great atmosphere, also breakfast was good and a lot. Rooms are spacious, we had a family room and we’re very happy there.

We loved to stay at this beautiful lodge! Best service, very kind people, perfect planned activities, good food and drinks ;) over all- a perfect stay! We will come back!

The best is the location and the game drives with the guide Guinea (not sure about the spelling). He is very, very, good. The hotel is a little old and needs some room renovation. Food is very good but the setup where you have to wait for the entrees and dessert to be served while the main course is a buffet made dinner way too long. We skipped desserts every day just because they would not serve you until almost everyone had finished. But our biggest complaint is about the limit on the grilled meat that you can have. The chef refused to give my son one extra fillet, which is a shame for a place like this, even more considering that there was always food in excess. Those kind of things are unexpected and very disappointing.

Great place, great staff, great experience, the area was great and we saw a lot of animals. Also the food was nice with great service

A lot of space, lovely dinner in the lapa with fire. We saw two male elephants fighting - beautiful grassland.
