Pay attention to the arrival time, and you need to communicate with the hotel in advance, otherwise it is easy to be rejected. Other than that, I am very satisfied with the hotel. It is clean and the room is very comfortable. Breakfast is delicious

The room was very clean and the staff was very welcoming! I feel that the problem with all this kind of houses is that the sound insulation is not very good, you can hear the conversations of the people next door and they face the street. The faucet in the shower room had been left for a long time and there was no hot water. But I still recommend this place. It feels very comfortable and the breakfast is delicious! ! It would be great if you stayed for two days or more, you can have a good visit here! Hope to stay again next time~

This is the Kyoto machiya I want to know most! I almost canceled because it was too far, but after thinking about it I decided to go and found that Otsu is a treasure~ Looking at the big lake that looks like the seaside, it’s very, very comfortable! This accommodation is very nice, nothing wrong with it, the boss is very chatty (in English) but it’s a pity that I didn’t order breakfast in advance, everyone must order it! It’s also good to eat Omi beef nearby.

The boss's English is very good! Very nice. But the sound insulation of wood in Japanese houses is a bit poor, and the wood will make noise, but it doesn't affect the rest, because everyone sleeps at night

Inase Otsu Machiya is the perfect place to visit if you are looking for an authentic Japanese experience. The place is family run and immensely cozy. After entering we were kindly guided around the location and given a tour of all it's facilities. The shared common room was absolutely beautiful with an amazing view into the peaceful garden retreat. Alongside the many amenities, we were treated to a tea ceremony on the morning of our departure. The lovely owners were so happy to talk to us and share some of the tastiest matcha I've ever had together. Overall I would recommend Inase to anybody travelling to or passing through Otsu! If I'm lucky enough to return to Otsu, I would be so glad to visit again. Sorry I didn't review sooner!

Just exactly like the old time Japanese Machiya from movie which is the nostalgic feeling i am looking for

Almost felt like I had the whole place to myself. The room I was in was massive for one person. Formtbhr bathroom, the restroom , to the dining area everything felt spacious and bette than staying at a chain hotel. The breakfast was so good and the space was so clean. would stay again.

Lovely, restored old house. There's a pay parking lot across the street and it's walking distance to Miidera temple and the waterfront. Great breakfast.

This was my first time using this facility. It was a very clean facility with a room and bath. My family and I used it, and our privacy was protected, so it was really easy to use. However, I had a hard time finding somewhere to eat dinner. If possible, it would be great if there was something like the dining out book that was in the room that could be checked online. We had a relaxing time. Thank you very much.

I stayed in an old house, and the bathroom and toilet had been renovated and were easy to use.

I stayed at Bansho. The bathroom and toilet were separate and spacious, which was especially great. The Japanese breakfast was simple but delicious, and I ended up having seconds of the mixed grain rice.

I wanted to have a variety of experiences at a ryokan, but I had no special preparations. A nearby restaurant was recommended for dinner, but it was expensive as a snack bar and not convenient for eating with family. The cleanliness was good, but the accommodation was expensive for a ryokan experience and there was no preparation for a special experience.
