This review is a far too late, but I did promise to wite one so here goes. We stayed as a family of 2 adults and 2 kids, and during the COVID19 summer of August 2020. Sometime Quality Inn hotels can be shady, but this one was TERRIFIC. I am being very honest, we have stayed at MANY Quality Inn hotels across the U.S and have had to turn away, but this one in Gatineau was: Very clean, absolutely friendy check in staff (Daniel Sarazin), outdoor poolfacility that was well kept and large, and amazing location (close to Costco and Ottawa). Now for the reason I am taking the time to write a review: the genuine great customer service from staff member Daniel Sarazin. He worked the front desk when we check in, and was friendly and efficient. He also proved to be tremendously helpful through our stay with answers to questions and special requests. I hope he is still there for your stay! People like this need to be highly valued to the Hotel owners, as exactly how they treat customers will prompt us to write positive reviews, and become return guests.

I rarely stay in hotels however I came to Ottawa to celebrate a kilometerstone (milestone for Americans ;-) birthday and decided to splurge a little. I was able to talk a friend into coming with me. I first saw this hotel on TripAdvisor, went to their own website and found I could book 4 nights for $119/nt. I spent about an hour looking around some of the big Internet travel sites and found the exact room promoted on one of them for $89! I called the hotel and asked if they price matched. After about 10min of them looking online to find the promo I was looking at, the shift supervisor approved the match! I had to agree to pay for all 4 nights whether I used them or not. I didn't care because I was coming! The location is GREAT, next to TransCanada/417 highway. That was very convenient as I had to drive to Carp the next morning and that was the highway I used. I was on that expressway 2 minutes after leaving the hotel! Check in was fast and efficient. The person checking me in was confused when I told her I was on a $89 promo, she had not heard about it but eventually found some notes on my reservation in the computer. Even though there was free parking, I wanted to leave the car at the hotel most days and take public transit downtown. I had heard even with the government shut down, parking was scarce and expensive in the city center. On check in I happened to ask how close a bus stop was to take us downtown as I wanted to do the double deck Grayline tour on Sunday and Monday. The desk clerk said I didn't need to take the city bus as the double deck bus picked up their guests every morning at 9am at the hotel! BONUS! I'm glad I asked. Our room was on the fourth floor and included two very comfortable Queen beds with 7” mattresses and fluffy comforters, a very nice bathroom, 40” LCD TV, small refrigerator, microwave and coffee maker. They also had WiFi that worked great! There was only one ceramic cup and one plastic cup for the first night, we would have liked two ceramic cups but it was too late to call down and ask. Both my friend and I noted how quiet the surroundings were. Almost the entire floor had booked rooms for two nights but we didn't hear much noise. Also, we were on the back side of the hotel not facing the street or highway so that may have contributed to it. If I were to return, I would ask for a first floor room on the same side of the hotel as each had direct access to the parking lot. Although the room was very clean and comfortable, there were not enough electrical plugs and the only available one to plug in my cell phone and computer was so worn out that the cables would not stay in the plug. I always bring extra cables, I had a long extension that ran from near the head of my bed to the table at the other end of the room. Without it, I would not have been able to charge my devices. Parking is convenient, free, and the lemonade downstairs is great. The facilities are perfect, but there is no elevator and the luggage is not good. There is a plaza and a restaurant nearby, which is very convenient.

The booked king suit suite, the room size is large, suitable for family travel. Canada does not provide disposable items by default. It is best to bring your own toiletries, especially slippers. There are no disposable slippers here. If you go to the front desk to ask for it, provide recycled foot cover (avoid the floor cold in winter) This is generally only available at 3 pm. It is best to have an ihg member. Otherwise, you can't check in before 3 o'clock and you need to pay 25 CAD separately. When the hotel is busy, the member's late check-out cannot be used. This should be noted. It is recommended to book a room facing the west side, and the sunset is very beautiful in the evening. If you are traveling by car, it is recommended to go to the park by the river, 5 minutes drive, there is a large green area, you can see swarms of wild Canadian geese.

Very clean! Nice sized room and nicely decorated. Beds comfortable. Breakfast had a good selection. Coffee and tea all day. Coffee maker in room. The only complaint is that when entering the ”entrance” sign is at the exit. It is a one way and makes no sense where they put the sign. Underground parking which is great for cold Ottawa winters. Just go right up from your parking spot.

I checked in with my students today, March 4th, at 3:45 pm today for one night stay and was told ros we booked were not ready and we waited 30 mins to get checked in. I went to the fitness center at basement and water bottle on drinking machine was empty, so I told staff to change water. He did take the water bottle and never came back with filled water bottle. I went back to my room at 416 to shower and found that draining the bath tub was blocked. So I called front desk and she told me that plumber would come to fix the drain. I waited for 30 mins and nobody showed up and I had to call again. 10 mins later, the guy came with a machine. He told me that he took out lots of hair and it would work and left. I took a shower 10 mins ago and found that water still sat without draining properly. It was almost midnight and I had to shower with water in the bath tub. Anyway, it was frustrating for the service. The facility is pretty new, but the service is really not up to the basic standard at all

• The Motel Adam Report (G-town, QC @ Feb. 2022) Cons: icy parking lot; not a kitchenette w/ stovetop for that price ($3,200/month); 2nd door lock sticks a lot, which is obvs dangerous re 🇨🇦 terrorism; washroom cabinet design flaw —＞ no handles + slams shut; handicap bar taking space @ an already too-small shower makes it exceptionally difficult for someone severely disabled to shower @ that too-small washroom; incl. brekky incl. *untoasted* bagels directly from the pkg (w/out even toasters @ the rooms) (!); hotel necessities not accessible for the guests, which should be common Covid practice @ 2022—guests should NOT have to ask; TV remote often didn’t even work (ex. try to adjust volume & the cartoon network appears, repeatedly); temp gauges fluctuate a lot, require frequent adjustment; someone STOLE our DND sign; hotel staff shovelled front walkway loudly @ 8am @ a Sat.; wifi sign-in requested repeatedly & then didn’t work AT ALL 1 day; a different day, all the water was orange (sink, tub, ‘n’ toilet); snowplow beeping loudly & repeatedly @ our parking lot @ 5am @ a Sat.; water @ entire hotel (or city?) went kaput morning day checking out (when we were rushing anyways—disability); key expired day we were checking out before that, when we were rushed, esp b/c of water issue The insisted-upon-by-the-motel-owner-visiting-our-room-w/out-warning-&-even-coming-inside-(!) “cleaning” EVERY DAY W/OUT EXCEPTIONS: put 2 dirty towels there + NO soap (took ours w/out stocking) + ignored our simple safety/disability request re *not* uncovering the window (but crumpled the note it was on); then it was done inappropriately differently each day, often taking our soap w/out replacing it + putting both toilet seats UP; had to go no matter what—even day experiencing intense disability flareups; stole at least both soap & Kleenex instead of stocking those; tossed our note once; evidence of our stuff being touched for NO reason; our DND sign was stuck to the wall using our post-its once, suggesting a more personal B&E; evidence of our stuff being stolen, including from the fridge—so we stuck a “do not open” sign there & then the motel cleaning staff put a long, curly hair in there… Pros: motels are preferable re not requiring a mask (‘cept @ lobby of course) + less crowding; windows easy enough to cover sufficiently & door easy enough to wedge closed; microwave; decent shower water pressure; toilet doesn’t break (til day before we relocated); dressing area

It's a Comfort Inn, so a bare bones motels. But, during COVID-19 they have gone below bare bones.....which is impressive in itself! Room was clean and had a fridge, microwave, TV, Iron, Iron board, alarm clock, phone, 2 sets of towels, shampoo, conditioner, and moisturizer. Motel authorized $100 on my credit card for ”Amenities”.....LOL...... sorry you have no amenities, say it like it is a ”Damage Deposit”. What has changed is: They have coffee maker in the room, but no coffee. Sorry but not sure how COVID would be spread by making coffee in your room. No hairdryer in the room. The vending machine was almost empty. The air conditioner was HORRIBLE, no more than a fan and during a heat wave, this sucked! Couldn't sleep because it was so hot. No continental breakfast, but they do have a bagged breakfast of orange juice, yogurt and a cheap granola bar. This could be SO much better, there are bagged muffins and fruit that should be in the bag. The motel is within walking distance of the Lone Star restaurant which was great! Overall NOT impressed, and will suggest to the company not to book me here again.

Good standard hotel with very friendly and helpful reception staff. If you are driving it is a great solution to visit Ottawa.

Overall this hotel is of good value with the cleanliness and proximity to downtown Ottawa. The hotel was opened to business in 2019. I redeemed from my Aeroplan for the 2 nights stay, and I paid $25/night for parking. Room - The room itself is clean with quite spacious bathroom. It is equipped with small fridge and there’s a microwave over the counter which is good. Amenities - it has a swimming pool and it’s clean with the adjacent patio and you can go outside which is good. It served complimentary breakfast with good selection of food. Plenty of seatings within the dinning area. Parking - OK but a bit tight in the parking stall however even it’s quite fully booked we are able to find parking. While we stayed I’ve found it interesting cleaning wasn’t done during the first night. The attendant made a mistake to our room and we ended up knocking the wrong room but it was an honest mistake I believed. What I’ve found it interesting though is right across diagonally across is a homeless shelter so just be prepared across the corner of the stress diagonally there’s a homeless shelter and be prepared for that. It didn’t bother me but you may end up having the room view of that depending on where your room is located. I’m sad to see so many of them and especially during the pandemic still seeing them on the street is a hit heartbreaking for me. This is a relatively new hotel and suitable for family and I’d recommend.
