When you arrive at the gate, you are greeted by ostriches. Check-in was very relaxed and easy. The car can be parked right next to the room/house. We had a family room, which is a little away from the main house, was spacious and well equipped. It is in need of some renovation (e.g. broken glass in the door; broken and loose tiles, etc.), but is still charming and attractive. There is also a small terrace. The entire complex is very beautiful, there is a small playground and other ostrich farms. Otherwise, the heart of the complex is the pool area with bar and dining area. The infinity pool is really beautiful and offers a beautiful view of the Karoo region. We particularly liked the service! Marshall in particular offered us excellent service at all times and was funny and friendly. Every request was met immediately. The other employees were also always friendly and accommodating. The breakfast buffet and dinner (4-5 course menu) were very tasty (be sure to try the ostrich steak!). Mooiplaas also offers ostrich farm tours and in-house stargazing with a telescope. We recommend it and would book here again!

This was not our first time at the Mooiplaas Guesthouse. Unfortunately, we were not so impressed this time. First, the good things - the staff were really very friendly and welcoming, the breakfast was very good and the rooms were spacious. The location and the view are wonderful. The gardens are very well maintained and very beautiful. The hotel has been expanded and has a few more rooms. This means that groups arrive, which unfortunately mean that the other guests don't get enough dinner - a shame. Unfortunately, the bathroom in our room in particular is extremely old and urgently needs renovation. The water runs out of the shower tray when you shower, despite the large amount of silicone, which has now turned black. The cushions at the otherwise very nice pool are outside, even when it rains, and are now very dirty.

The hotel is in a very quiet location and was a bit difficult to find as roadsigns weren't obvious. Lovely pool and very friendly staff. Breakfast buffet was good. Rooms a little old but large and very clean.

Very nice stay as guests of a lifetime friend. The room (honeymoon suite) was excellent but very dark to our liking. Our room however required some maintenance! Toilet kept running after flushing, toilet roll holder was loose, and a few electrical issues. Outdoor relaxation area was excellent.

We had a lovely overnight stay at Mooiplaas. We received an amazingly warm welcome from "Superman" John - and nothing was too much to ask over our short but incredibly relaxing stay. We'd recommend "staying in" for a lovely dinner with an amazing view!

We had a great stay. Enjoyed the ostrich tour. Loved the dinner (delicious ostrich steaks) and the general setting. We stayed across the road at the Anex but all meals and activities were at the main lodge. Our car was washed - nice touch and woke to the smell of coffee brewing and was served a lovely coffee on my patio in the morning - such a treat.

Lovely clean hotel and brilliant location as a stop for a couple of nights on our garden route adventures! Evening meal very average so go into town much better value. What lets the place down for us was we like quite! This hotel was a stop for coach loads of tourists spoiling the a**osphere. One night the hotel allowed a birthday party of 11 guys who were extremely loud!! Completely ruined our evening and the lovely peaceful location. Lastly be aware when you arrive they offer you a tour of the ostrich farm then shove it on your bill.

Guest house among ostriches. But the room is frustrated, the bedding is average and worn. After asking for towels for the bathroom, we only got 2 bath towels! No shower mats, no towels!! Breakfast is rather Anglo-Saxon, the choice is limited. On the other hand, the staff is very friendly. We had dinner there and ate very well.
