"Soetdoring (on De Zeekoe farm) was the first stayover we had for our honeymoon, and we were so impressed! We had such easy and effective communication with the owner, received a tranquil cabin with a beautiful big patio overlooking the farm dam and felt so at peace. The cabin is also equipt with everything and more (aircon, wifi, braai facilities, modern bathroom and a nice big bed with mosquito netting). The farm has ample wildlife and bird species to view (so bring your binoculars!) and to add icing to the cake, the farm even has an amazing restaurant just a few minutes away! What more do you want? "

"We had a great stay. Enjoyed the ostrich tour. Loved the dinner (delicious ostrich steaks) and the general setting. We stayed across the road at the Anex but all meals and activities were at the main lodge. Our car was washed - nice touch and woke to the smell of coffee brewing and was served a lovely coffee on my patio in the morning - such a treat. "

"We stayed at House Martin in de Rust for two days the last weekend of January with friends. Our hosts Jan and Theresa was fantastic and Jan prepared the most delicious breakfasts and dinners which was served by two friendly ladies. Our room with en-suite bathroom and aircon and a comfortable queen bed was perfect. At the pool area there was tables and chairs where we could sit till late night and enjoy the fresh Karoo air and silence. The two days felt like a long holiday. "Here we stayed in bungalows, which are quite comfortable. Large area with different types of bungalows and there is also a campsite. There is a small opportunity to buy drinks and a few snacks from the manager. To eat you have to take the bus/car, there are a few nice places in town. On the second evening we decided to have a BBQ here with the group and they were super nice and set everything up for us with dishes, tablecloths, barbecue utensils and bowls. That was super nice of the owners. Cool thing. We felt comfortable and everyone was excited."

"Nice views but this place caters for coach loads of people. The receptionist on arrival was not welcoming, the good was 2star buffet style and caters of masses. We stayed here a couple of years ago and there was such a personal touch but it’s lost its rating and should be a 2star. There are better places to stay unless you like cold begets for breakfast!"
