Unser Aufenthalt im Mooiplaas Guesthouse war absolut fantastisch. Die Zimmer sind gut und bieten atemberaubende Ausblicke auf die Swartberg Mountains. Besonders hervorheben möchten wir die super Tour mit den Straußenvögeln. Es war faszinierend, diese beeindruckenden Tiere aus nächster Nähe zu erleben und mehr über ihre Aufzucht und Pflege zu erfahren. Die Gastfreundschaft der Gastgeber war erstklassig, und wir haben uns rundum wohlgefühlt. Ein perfekter Ort für Entspannung und Abenteuer gleichermaßen. Sehr empfehlenswert!

Our stay at Mooiplaas was a very memorable one. It is a luxurious retreat and we enjoyed our stay immensely. Staff are extremely helpful and they make an effort to memorize each guests name. I would highly recommend this destination. Hanlie and Viljee… well done!

Bei der Ankunft an der Toreinfahrt wird man direkt von Straußvögeln begrüßt. Der Check-in lief total entspannt und einfach. Das Auto kann direkt am Zimmer/ Haus geparkt werden. Wir hatten ein Familienzimmer, welches etwas abseits vom Haupthaus liegt, geräumig und gut ausgestattet war. Es ist etwas renovierungsbedürftig (zB. Glas in der Tür kaputt; Fliesen gebrochen und lose etc), allerdings trotzdem charmant und ansprechend. Kleine Terrasse auch vorhanden. Die gesamte Anlage ist sehr schön, es gibt einen kleinen Spielplatz und weitere Straußenfarmen. Ansonsten sticht das Herzstück der Poolbereich mit Bar und Essensbereich heraus. Der Infinity-Pool ist wirklich schön und gibt einen schönen Blick ins Karoo Gebiet. Besonders gefallen hat uns der Service! Insbesondere Marshall hat uns zu jeder Zeit einen exzellenten Service geboten und war lustig und freundlich. Jedes Anliegen wurde sofort erfüllt. Auch die anderen Angestellten war stets freundlich und zuvorkommend. Frühstücksbüffet und auch Abendessen (4-5 Gänge Menü) waren sehr lecker (unbedingt das Straußen-Steak probieren!). Außerdem bietet Mooiplaas Touren für Straußenfarmen an und in-house Sternenbeobachtung mit Teleskop. Wir empfehlen es und würden hier wieder buchen!

Wir waren nicht zum ersten Mal im Mooiplaas Guesthouse. Leider waren wir dieses Mal nicht mehr so begeistert. Die schönen Dinge vorweg - die Mitarbeiter waren wirklich sehr nett und herzlich, das Frühstück war sehr gut und die Zimmer waren geräumig. Die Lage und der Ausblick sind wundervoll. Die Gartenanlage ist super gepflegt und sehr schön. Das Hotel ist erweitert worden und hat einige Zimmer mehr. Das hat zur Folge, das Gruppen anreisen, die leider beim Abendessen dafür sorgen, das die übrigen Gäste zu kurz kommen - schade. Leider ist vorallem das Bad in unserem Zimmer extrem in die Jahre gekommen und benötigt dringend eine Renovierung. Das Wasser läuft beim Duschen aus der Duschwanne, trotz des vielen Silikon, das inzwischen schwarz geworden ist. Die Auflagen an dem sonst sehr schönen Pool liegen, auch bei Regen, draußen und sind inzwischen sehr schmutzig.

The hotel is in a very quiet location and was a bit difficult to find as roadsigns weren't obvious. Lovely pool and very friendly staff. Breakfast buffet was good. Rooms a little old but large and very clean.

Very nice stay as guests of a lifetime friend. The room (honeymoon suite) was excellent but very dark to our liking. Our room however required some maintenance! Toilet kept running after flushing, toilet roll holder was loose, and a few electrical issues. Outdoor relaxation area was excellent.

We had a lovely overnight stay at Mooiplaas. We received an amazingly warm welcome from "Superman" John - and nothing was too much to ask over our short but incredibly relaxing stay. We'd recommend "staying in" for a lovely dinner with an amazing view!

We had a great stay. Enjoyed the ostrich tour. Loved the dinner (delicious ostrich steaks) and the general setting. We stayed across the road at the Anex but all meals and activities were at the main lodge. Our car was washed - nice touch and woke to the smell of coffee brewing and was served a lovely coffee on my patio in the morning - such a treat.
