Lakeside Guest House

We stayed at the Lakeside for two nights. Greeted on arrival by Daniella who was so friendly and helpful about places to eat in Oxford. The room was lovely and clean and although it overlooked the main road it was very quiet. The bathroom was compact but had plenty of hot water and soft towels. The breakfast was very delicious and beautifully cooked by Martin (especially the poached eggs!) It was an ideal location for walking into Oxford. It only took about 15 minutes to reach the centre. The friendly welcome and exceptional service from Daniella and Martin made our stay. If you are looking for a a family run hotel with owners who are passionate about their business then would definitely recommend you give it a try.

Because of covid, the facility is quite an independent experience. The nice owners have organized a key box for entry and everything else you need to stay in a pleasant room. It is spotlessly clean and convenient parking is available too,

Very good location - an easy walk into town. The hospitality was very welcoming and non-intrusive. Excellent cleanliness. The breakfast was always good, beautifully presented and served. Quality ingredients provided a great start to the day. Cooked breakfast and a good choice on the cold buffet. Comfy bed and, for my longer stay, I took room 10 which has a few added extra touches and it’s own front door to the room! Towels and bedding were of good quality and the complimentary soaps and shampoo were good quality too. Good communication on how to access the room prior to arrival. A very positive experience.

This is an all round excellent bed and breakfast. The hospitality from the owner is warm and friendly. The rooms are of an excellent standard with attention to detail and are clean and spacious. There is also free parking. Breakfast is of a very good quality with plenty of choice and large portion sizes. The location is excellent with only a short walk to Christchurch.

Perfect location, lovely room with above expected amenities. Great rooms for business or pleasure trips. Friendly owners, staff and cooked breakfast was lovely plus included in the price. Great value for money. I’ll definitely be returning to explore Oxford.

We travelled as a group of 7 and had a great time, the hotel was spotlessly clean, provided a lovely breakfast and is in a great spot to access the centre of Oxford. Daniella was really helpful re eating out and we booked several of her recommendations. We would definately stay there again.
