This was my 3rd time back at Grande Roche. The venue, staff and service never fails to impress. The immaculate setting, the friendly and efficient staff and their can do attitude is what beings us back everything. As an organization we simply enjoy the amd appreciate the care and service we receive at Grande Roche. A hotel and conference venue of note.

What a setting: a grand manor house with really excellent gardens surrounding the various buildings. Beautiful views of Paarl and the surrounding area. Our rooms had a level down from the entrance where there was a small living room and a toilet. We slept in de bedroom upstairs, directly under the thatched roof. The bed was a bit small and the shower was small and outdated: I would have ripped the bathtub out to leave more room for a useable shower. The hotel staff was friendly, especially in the truly spectacular restaurant. We loved the food and being able to sit on the terrace in front, overlooking the gardens and vineyard.

Seventh visit and always a great experience. Staff were excellent in re-rooming us when the initial room wasn’t getting adequate light. Some modernization still required with some low level work being done on installing solar panels, so will be great to see the finished article once complete. Will certainly be back once again.

Beautiful room and surrounding gardens. Needs some investment and training in high end customer service. This is a lovely hotel , just has lost some of its sparkle.

We have stayed here on 4 other occasions , but not for a while, we were so disappointed in the room we were first shown to, a 2 storey suite, in need of an upgrade . We changed to a terrace room, recently refurbished it was lovely a complete contrast, we did have to pay another 750R a night, but worth it. We has issues with the shower , it was not draining and flooded the bathroom every morning, it was reported to maintenance but it was not resolved , it stop it overloading the drains we ended up putting the shower on lower pressure which it did help. During our last stay there was a gym which has now gone, but there are still signs up for the fitness centre which apparently went during Covid.. We ate in the restaurant for breakfast and one evening meal, the food was good a high standard. Staff were always happy to help with a smile

The hotel complex is located on a prime hillside location, with very good views of Paarl and the surrounding area. The buildings integrate very well into the beautiful garden park. All employees are very friendly, courteous, and often have little professional expertise. They are all helpful and have a remarkable customer focus. Meals: Breakfast: unfortunately no buffet, small selection of food Dinner: limited menu, smallest selection of food The quality of the food is good in the high price segment Room: Poor cleaning service, the bare essentials were only taken care of after a complaint. Used cloths were picked up from the floor, folded and prepared for use again. The bathroom has not been cleaned for the time being. There are ancient, partly defective facilities such as towel warmers installed. The clothes boxes are broken inside, defective or destroyed by water, are unhygienic and unusable. The electrical installation in the entire room is ancient and dilapidated. Shower: The ancient shower head cannot be locked, the drain is blocked and spreads a bad smell throughout the bathroom. The tub is absolutely unhygienic and unprofessionally repaired. There are dangerous and rusty screws protruding from the tiles. Building/environment: The outdoor installation of the air conditioning cooling units is unhygienic and disturbing in terms of seating. The outside of the building is outdated and in need of renovation; the plaster is crumbling in various places. Renovations are more appearance than reality, it was just painted over, not renovated. Pool: Broken and dirty drain grates as well as missing and broken tiles are visible. The infrastructure throughout the park is also neglected, seemingly renovated and mostly painted over at most. In our opinion, we don't see any long-term potential for the investment. Unfortunately, we had already paid for our stay in advance, otherwise we would have left immediately and looked for another hotel room. In our opinion, the facility deserves a maximum of 3 stars in national and international comparison.

When traveling in the Winelands the eyes are spoilt for choice, the mountains, the vineyards, the architecture and so much more. as you drive up Plantasie street you think this cannot be leading to an expansive vineyard as it is a street of beautiful homes and then you turn into Grande Roche and a vineyard opens up in front of you. This property has it all in abundance however it’s has a special ingredient …the staff. You will most definitely be treated to the full five star experience accommodation, food and service delivered by staff who want you to love the property and experience it not just as a hotel but as an indulgence that you will not want to leave. Thank you in particular to Survardia and the restaurant team who not only served us delicious food but also recommended places to visit. In a place where hospitality is delivered to an excellent standard Grande Roche gives even more.

The restaurant and hotel has a high quality old school elegance, matched by the service. Part of a 70th Birthday celebration which the restaurant kindly recognised. Stunning views. The food was delightful with excellent service. Well worth trek from Gordons Bay
