Drift Palm Cove

We live locally and decided to do a staycation as we had family over from the UK. We all had a great time the hotel staff are all friendly and knowledgeable about the local area. Great bars, restaurants all within walking distance. The resort pool was a real winner with our 2 children (4,2). The apartment was well equipped and the 3 bed apartments are a great size and layout was great.

Had a fantastic stay at drift palm cove, will definitely stay again, bed mattress might need to be replaced soon but all in all had a fantastic stay with the family, close to restaurants and family had great time in the pool

We were recently in room 5202 and we were very impressed!! We would absolutely stay here again. The ocean view was magical to wake up to every morning. Positives- - the whole unit was very clean. - LOTS of blankets and linen provided which suited my family really well. - spacious and modern - central to restaurants Negatives- - wifi connection not good at all but we understand it was about to get fixed. - outdoor balcony areas could do with a good clean. - a few ceiling lights need replacing. - lift was not working in the building at the time of our holiday. Overall, a very pleasant experience.

So good we didn't want to leave!

Great location and the pool is phenomenal, you can swim in it all day and always find a patch of shade. Perfectly located in walking distance to everything along the Palm Cove esplanade. Will definitely stay here again.

Close to good food spots. Great pool. Just needs a little TLC to bring it up to a very good stay option. Our room had mouldy outdoor furniture which was not inviting and which we couldn’t use for the whole of over stay making outside eating, reading etc a non option.

The location is perfect, the check in process was excellent and we were able to check in early which was much appreciated. The beds were really comfortable and the family room was really spacious and laid out well for us as we have a young child. The pool was freezing cold and not swimmable, although my daughter did her best trying! Spa was out of action. The room could’ve been cleaner, there was stuff under the beds from previous occupants, hairs on the floor, dirty dishes and stains on the ottomans, walls and the curtains had mould on the back of them.

Quite disappointing this time round. We have stayed at Drift a few times before as it is reasonably priced and comfortable for the family. This time however there was a lot of things that needed addressing however weren't in our 3 night stay- the spa wasn't working, the lift was out of order, when we got to the room the patio was dirty, the dishwasher was out of order, no tea towels, the toilet water kept running constantly, the stove top didn't work and very limited kitchen items. The check in was VERY slow. On the second night we couldn't get into our floor through the fire exit as the door handle on the outside has come out (and we couldn't use the lift as out of order). Was able to pry it open and then jimmy the door and lock so others weren't locked out. As it was 7pm there was no reception and I contacted the after hours however the solution was to put a hand written note on the door telling people to leave it open and it stayed there for the remainder of our trip. In saying all this, we were very understanding of the faults given the recent extreme weather event and wanting to support local tourism. Would still recommend a stay here as it has a great pool for families to hang at in the absence of the stinger nets at the beach. We have stayed in the same accom type (2 bedroom apartment) several times and it really just depends which room you are allocated as our first room was great, second room ok (bit smelly but otherwise fine) and this time round as many issues ;(

The apartments are in the perfect location. We had an amazing sea view which was worth paying the extra. The apartment was well equipped and the utility area was great. We stayed in room 1208. On a negative note the apartment was a little tired and I think a little overpriced for the £120 we paid per night.
