Good hotel

The hotel was very good, in a central location within walking distance of the harbour. The rooms were adequate, and were very clean. A few maintenance issues here and there but they were dealt with promptly which was good to see. The facilities were excellent, with the pools both indoor and outdoor being a useable temperature during the winter months. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

I had premium garden cabana with sea view. There is nothing premium about this cabana there is no garden and sea view is limited. Room are clean and service is good but rooms and hotel needs upgrade and maintenance ie. in my room floor was falling apart. Pool is very nice. Access to beach ONLY via few steps. On the beach you need to pay for sunbed and umbrella if you want to use it otherwise you can lay on the towel/sand. I was at the end of September and age average in this hotel was well above 65-70 so no young couples or families at ALL. Overpriced for the overall quality.

Great hotel and location. Staff are constantly trying to help, very relaxing and will definitely revisit. Perfect location for my needs. Good price and can't really ask for more.

Friendly staff, nice common areas, perfect breakfast!

Stayed for a week in May as a treat for my 60th birthday. The hotel deserves all accolades and the positive comments it has on here. The level of service provided was excellent. The food in all the restaurants including the standard buffet offering was the best I’ve ever experienced on holiday. The specialty Seven Orchids was fabulous as was the Italian Garibaldis. The staff were so well trained and very well versed in explaining the dishes. The themed evenings in the buffet restaurants were amazing as well although at times the food could have been hotter. All the public areas of the hotel are beautifully laid out with plenty of places to sit and relax before or after dinner. The cocktails from the Alexander bar were first class. James one of the bar tenders was so engaging and happy to interact with the guests. Xenia from the restaurant has infectious enthusiasm for her work and led a chorus of ‘Happy Birthday’ as we went in for dinner. The cake provided was appreciated as well. We loved the allocated sunbed system and the pool area was well kept and in May at least did not feel crowded. Yes the bulk of the hotel clientele are of the more mature age group but there were a smattering of younger people and families. I don’t think it would appeal to older teenagers due to a lack of facilities for them. There is plenty to keep you occupied around the hotel with water sports close by, a short walk to the harbour area where there are lots of bars and restaurants to admire the scenery from. We chose this hotel for its customer first approach and standards. we were not disappointed. The room furnishings could do with freshening up but the rooms are of a good size with plenty of storage. Would we return? In a heartbeat. Thank you to all at Alexander the Great hotel for making my birthday so memorable.

We were welcomed and fed even though we arrived at 9.20 pm. Our room was comfortable and clean and we enjoyed every minute of our stay, we don’t usually bother with sunbeds but as they were allocated for us near the serenity pool we used them daily- so nice not to have to struggle to get one. Really good spa and indoor pool and gym - the last two mostly empty. The food was amazing different themed buffets each evening, hot, fresh, good selection and overall queues.Good breakfasts. Entertainment each evening - shows, magician and singers - not to our taste but they made a really good effort. The hotel is also on a great location - just half a mile from the harbour. We can’t wait to return - this was our fourth visit to Paphos and this hotel was a head and shoulders above our previous ones
