I liked the hotel with the themed rooms. It's a neat idea but I was expecting the rooms to be a bit more immersive in the chosen theme. The room was clean and quite quiet even though it faced a fairly busy street. The A/C unit was intermittently making odd noises so I turned it off. The TV is a little obsolete and would not allow me to stream content from my phone. The beds were firm and comfortable. I thought it strange that there were no facial tissues at hand in the room. A nice to have would have been a kettle/coffee machine in the room. The buffet breakfast was Ok. Overall I enjoyed the room experience. The same cannot be said about our dining experience at edit. In short, it was horrible and if it hadn't been my wife's birthday and my being fatigued from a full day of hiking I would have sent our meals back and walked out of the restaurant. I ordered the salmon and my wife ordered the steak. The steak was really chewy and tough. My salmon was way overcooked. The skin was the texture of cardboard. It came on a bed of chick peas with a creamy sauce which in turn was literally floating in a pool of some unspecified green slime. The presentation was extremely off-putting I am sorry to say. As I was quite hungry at the time I did my best to eat what I could. As I mentioned, the salmon was overcooked to the point of being dry. The green sauce essentially swallowed up the chick peas after my first couple of tastes. There was no indication what the green sauce was derived from but I eventually figured out it was some kind of cilantro puree. Full disclosure, I am one of those people who really doesn't like cilantro and would not have ordered the salmon had the menu disclosed that ingredient. The best part of the meal was the Ceasar salad we had for our appetizer. Also, the wait staff were very nice and attentive.

Good basic accommodation with friendly service and reasonable price. Our room was spotlessly clean and well equipped with towels, microwave, fridge, coffee maker and more drawer and cupboards space than you often get in much more expensive places. Convenient for lots of nearby fast food places and the Symposium Café on site (see separate review). Highly recommended.

My daughter is heading off to University in the Fall in Waterloo and this hotel is about 15mins away from the school (easy drive on the expressway) We've stayed here a total of 2 times while looking for an apartment for my daughter and her roommates. Great stay both times! Easy check in and out, free parking, free coffee and like a 'grab and go' breakfast in the morning with yogurt, fruit, power bars etc. We'll definitely say again when we visit our daughter. A no fuss hotel!

We hard a large group and this was the perfect hotel. Room are well appointed with Kitchen items (dishwasher with a pod, dish soap, containers, pots, pans, strainer, cutting board etc. Bathrooms have pumps for S&C, hand soap, cream and body wash. Beds are comfortable. Breakfast was great lots to choose from (Eggs, hashbrowns, waffles, bagels, bread, yogurt, bananas, apples, cereal, oatmeal... you will find something you like. They even have a great little store. I've never seen a hotel have so much selection like this. Was perfect when you we were running late for a game and you need Gatorade and some snacks. Pool was clean and nice, would like a hot tub but that's just me being picky. Even with a packed hotel.. it didn't feel like it. I've stayed at over 5 hotels in this area and hands down this is the best. It has everything and more. Paying a small bit extra was so very worth it.

I needed to be in Brantford for a couple of nights and opted to stay at the Holiday Inn Express & Suites Brantford because I always opt for IHG Hotels when I can. Plus, Brantford has very few options for lodging. I arrived later in the evening and check-in was a breeze. I booked a double queen room. Room 612 is located by the elevator, so if noise is an issue for you, I’d request a different room. As I am partially hearing impaired, the noise from the vent directly across the hall was more like a white noise for me. I imagine it might be louder for others. Key cards worked without issue. Room was clean and tidy. Bathroom has a nice mirror with lighting which was great for makeup application. Aside from the bar of soap that dried out your hands like most hotels, the products available in the bathroom (shampoo, conditioner, body wash) was good quality. I didn’t even have to use my own because I liked the brand and scent. The bathroom had a tub/shower combo. Tub isn’t that big, so if you like baths, you may not like it so much. Shower was great. I like taking showers hotter than the fires if Hades, so I was happy with the water pressure and consistent temperature. The beds were super comfortable. Pillows were perfectly firm. Beddings were soft and adequate. Mattress was perfectly firm as well. I didn’t try out the sofa, but it looked clean and I’m sure it is comfortable to sit on. The room also had a safe that I was unable to open because it was left closed and locked. The room has a standard mini fridge, microwave and Keurig. Reaching Front Desk for extra tissues and coffee cups was a little of a challenge. This was probably due to being short staffed. If you need anything, you’re better off just going downstairs and asking in person instead of calling. I do with Front Desk communicated late checkouts better with Housekeeping because I had a late checkout and Housekeeping came to knock on my door 4 different times. They were super nice and explained that they don’t get notified about late checkouts. No fault of theirs. These people do a great job and hard work to ensure you have a comfortable stay, so don’t rip their heads off when they knock to check if you’re still there if you’re checking out late. It may be annoying, but they’re just doing their jobs. Overall, this was a great stay and staff were wonderful. I hope to never have to stay in Brantford again, but if I do, I’ll definitely check in here.

If you found this review informative, please indicate that it was helpful so I know where to better focus my review efforts. We recently stayed at the Home2 Suites by Hilton Brantford for five days during a recent visit to the Ontario area. The hotel is a new-ish complex off the highways with convenient access and a fast food complex (Tims, Wendys, KFC, Taco Bell, Indian) within walking distance. The design of the property is to incorporate a few more kitchen-style amenities into a larger room ideal for longer stays (think basement suite but in a hotel). The hotel has a pool with excellent access times (no hot tub), and it also has a fitness center accessible 24/7 along with several meeting rooms for events. Front desk staff (all of them) during check in, extending stay and overall assistance were great. For some reason, one of our key cards deactivated a few times over the course of our stay, which was quickly resolved in both cases. The room was spacious and equipped with a medium sized fridge, freezer, microwave, dishes and cutlery for use. You are able to rent for free a hot plate and cookware if needed (we did not opt to). The furnishings were very nice and modern, the accommodations were clean (sheets, etc.) overall. The only minor faults I noticed were utensils not completely clean - some had water stains and slight residue from prior use. We were very comfortable nevertheless and the blinds were great at keeping the sunlight out. Breakfast was a good offering, however I do have a bit of an issue that it was offered as a “hot breakfast”, The general norm I've come to understand is that a hot breakfast will include hot proteins like eggs, bacon… the only things that were hot were the oatmeal, DIY waffles, toast and breakfast sandwiches after heating them up in the microwave. They also did not rotate or offer variety over the course of the stay (five nights) which became a bit tiresome. Moreover, you have to be on time for breakfast, as they will pull the curtains on you (quite literally) at 9:30. A suggestion to elevate this to a stellar offering would be to consider incorporating a few hot trays (eggs, bacon, sausage) and rotate them with the breakfast sandwiches. Also, some folks felt rushed to grab items at 9:30, so perhaps an extension to 10am may be helpful for late risers. Can't give half circles - a one night stay would've been a 5, but it trended down a bit given the longer stay. Overall, despite the downfalls (which were minor in the grand scheme of things), provided you mix up your breakfast and eat out every now and then for longer stays, the Home2 Suites Brantford is a very good showing indicative of its current rating on TripAdvisor. The value is really good for what you receive, that is if you are willing to be a further distance away from the GTA and Niagara Falls area. The staff are polite and attentive, the hotel was fully booked but we still received excellent customer service, to them a 5/5, Samantha and the front desk particularly. The beds were comfortable, the linens are getting old and could use an upgrade 3/5. Television was alight, we were here to experience a cultural event so tv wasn't a priority. The downfall and reason for the low score: the dust in the room and vents in bathroom need a deep cleaning. My partner had an asthma attack that brought us the the hospital on our first night, and the second again he was using his emergency puffer. This is an issue that is easily remedied. The bathroom was clean, but there too needs an update to the shower: the curtain needs a replacement as does the shower head. The water pressure and temperature was great! For a full hotel, it was quite quiet. The breakfast bar was typical for this range of hotel and pretty much exactly what is served at this chain, it's not great but gives you something before getting on with your day, and it's free... so why complain? We would probably stay here again if there was more attention paid to the cleanliness.
