We stayed for just one night on our road trip from Michigan to Maine. Family of 4 and our Weimaraner. The two working the desk (man & woman) were so personable and helpful when I was checking us in. I’m late in getting this review in so unfortunately I can’t remember their names, but I just want to say that these two were truly great. Having our pup with us, they were sure to put us on the ground floor and near an outside door. That may not seem like a huge deal, but traveling with a dog, it makes a difference! Our room was clean and spacious, pool area was nice and the family loved the breakfast buffet. We will definitely choose a (Burrstone Inn) Ascend Hotel again.

The hotel recommended by the customer is an old building that has been around for a hundred years. The location is in the heart of Utica town, from the train station, about 10 minutes. All aspects are good, after all, is the Hilton brand. The only thing I don't understand is that when booking, there are remarks to try to arrange rooms on high floors. The hotel seems to pay less attention to Ctrip's orders. Although the hotel occupancy rate is not high, the optional room should be a lot, but it is still arranged on the fourth floor, and the room is close to the road, it is noisy.

This hotel does a decent job of delivering what you expect when staying at a Fairfield. The rooms are clean and sharp, everything looks fairly new, the bed is comfortable, and the breakfast in the morning is just fine for a hotel buffet, though lacks the option range that some have and is not fully replenished throughout the service period. I appreciated that the TV in our room supported streaming (you can login to your Netflix service / etc) -- we used that. I wish that it was more common for a hotel like this to use actual reusable plates/silverware for the breakfast rather than everything throwaway. The breakfast was supposed to be available until 10am, but the staff started packing it up around 9:45. When my girlfriend tried to get breakfast around 9:50, the staff were able to bring a few things back out of the kitchen for her -- but really, if a breakfast will be packed up starting at 9:45, list that as the end time rather than 10am. Checkout time is noon. The housekeeping staff knocked first around 9am (while we were still in bed), then again around 10:30am to see if we had left yet so they could clean. Since we were not checked out of the room yet, this felt a bit like being rushed out. I always prefer it when the housekeeping crew either waits until checkout time or starts first on the rooms where guests have checked out early, so I'm not woken up. I understand that staffing shortages likely make this kind of coordination hard. These are minor issues in the scheme of things. Overall a solidly decent night and a hotel I wouldn't hesitate to stay at again if I was in the area, though probably wouldn't prioritize over other options either.

My only hopes for this hotel would that it would be clean and comfortable for a quick overnight stay. It was a GREAT stay! The front desk staff was really caring, upbeat, helpful and nice - I will even venture to say they are some of the best hospitality staff members I've encountered in a long time. They went out of their way to provide us with some random requests (a bag of ice, rollaway bed) and even called ahead of time to confirm my room preference. They really treated us like valued guests. We didn't spend much time at the hotel, but kids did use the pool, which was nice. Hotel is close to restaurants/bars (very easy walking distance - Griffin's Pub is a stone's throw and Swifty's, Ocean Blue & Ancora are not much farther) and we could see the Saranac Brewery from our room window. Parking garage seemed adequate. Didn't utilize restaurant or bar in the hotel, but the area looked nice. Doordash options are also available for late-night eats! Thanks for a great stay!

I recently stayed 3/2/22-3/3/22. Cheri (Front Desk) always treats us like family. She is professional,extremely friendly and always goes beyond the call of duty. Cheri always brightens up our stay and we always look forward to seeing her at our next visits. Justin the hotel manager is also one of kind, he always takes great care of us, very professional, friendly and as like Cheri goes beyond the call of duty. We are always treated like family with superb service and great respect. Cheri and Justin have also referred us to some great restaurants extremely close to the hotel plus there’s lots to do that’s very close to this hotel on 20 Weaver St. Utica, NY.. I would also like to mention Jake who took our multiple reservations, he was very friendly, professional, confirmed everything with me and then email me our hotel reservations. We stayed here while attending our daughter's graduation from nearby Hamilton College. The hotel's COVID-19 safety protocols appear to be solid. Our room was clean and comfy. Mattress was not as firm as we like, but we slept OK. Breakfast was lame: tiny cereal boxes, sausage biscuits, oatmeal packets, individually wrapped muffins, yogurt, coffee, milk. Odd thing is that it appeared some people got a hot breakfast if they arrived earlier than we did. There were small chafing dishes that had held eggs and sausage. Not sure what that was about. Two more odd things: 1. our room was not cleaned the first night, even though I specifically asked about it after lunch, when it seemed the housekeeping staff was gone. Front desk made a note, but no one came to clean. I called again and front desk said I had to request cleaning. OK. I officially, for the second time, request cleaning. 2. front desk has bottled water in a small fridge just out of sight. if you ask for it, they will give you a bottle. if you don't know about it, I guess you have to pay for a bottle from the section where they sell food near the front desk.
