We were 4 friends on a tour of Greece. We spent 2 nights at the Porto do Río hotel. It is a hotel that here, in Spain, would not even reach 3 stars. We had problems with the request for two beds. Request made from Madrid (we were 4 friends) and since they gave us a double bed and we protested, they offered us a "suite" with two rooms. I put suite in quotes because it looked like a roadside hostel in a third world country. Indeed, it had a double bed and in the "living room" two folding beds with a minimum mattress (for children). We had to place one mattress on top of the other, so as not to get stuck in the slats of the bed base. When we complained they offered us another room. It was even worse. Just comment that a mattress full of urine had been propped on the wall.... NO COMMENT!! To make matters worse, the first day, when we returned to the hotel, THEY HAD NOT MADE THE BEDS, OR THE CLEANING!!! They made the beds as soon as we complained, but didn't even bother to clean the bathroom. It looked like an abandoned hotel. I think they had more rooms, but they would be uninhabitable, because there was hardly anyone in the dining room. REMOVE THOSE 4 STARS, IT'S A DECEPTION!!!

I stayed at that hotel as part of an excursion taken from a travel agency. They told me and other guests, that there were only ''refurbished'' rooms available ,for which we paid an extra cost comparing to standard rooms. What we faced when we got into the rooms was an aged , or even abandoned room , with old furniture , problems with heating , flushing the toilet, electric plugs , TV sets not working , smell , bathrooms showing a 2-star hotel , balconies with rusty steels and cheap furniture, etc. The food was in average or below average level. The surrounding areas , used exclusively during summer, had not any care and maintenance at all. Even , the construction has to get some attention and repair. In general, the whole hotel needs a real renovation in all sectors to reach the 4-star standards . Till, then it remains well below those standards and does not worth the money someone pays to spend some time there. Considering the repeatedly similar reviews of guests in the past - same foundings since 2016, or earlier - it does not seem that there is such intention for the future.

Terrible property. Horrible conditions nothing like the pictures. Very run down and old worn out furnishings that are outdated. Would not recommend at all to anyone.

A 4-star hotel that doesn't look like it, it's rather average to bad. The good thing is the view of the sea from the dining room, the breakfast acceptable, the dinner average. I didn't choose it, I was part of a tour, I don't think I would repeat.

Staff were friendly, room was dated and beds uncomfortable, after a few days room smelt of sewage. Outdoor pool was emptied of water, we were not informed prior to arrival. Restaurant closed in most evening, car park lighting off most of the time. You either need to take a 15 minute walk on roads and pathways in the dark to get to a restaurant or drive in the evenings.

The hotel was horrible, it gave the impression that the part where we were had been closed for a long time and they had opened it for us. The carpet was dirty, there was only one table, the bathroom drain and the taps were rusty, only a trickle of water came out in the shower, the foot towel was frayed, the terrace (which had very nice views of the beach ) was very abandoned.
