On arrival the exterior was not very inviting and it needs a spruce up, but once inside it's a different story. All done in a light bright Scandi style with wooden beams and roaring fires. The room was very comfortable and dinner at the Fyr Grill/restaurant was good, though quite expensive and the menu a little limited if you're not a steak fan. Pool was lovely and larger than expected. Staff were excellent throughout, very welcoming and friendly. Would definitely stay again.

Excellent location for visiting different areas of Lake District.Pool and spa very good and breakfast excellent. Was pleasantly surprised to find that fresh water and milk was available in corridor close to room .Did not dine at hotel so cannot comment on this. Initially we were given room with strong paint fumes but they changed as soon as we highlighted this and we actually got upgraded.Would not hesitate to stay again.

We came here as we were thinking about staying here for 2 nights, we wanted some lunch as we have been driving all day and arrived here at 1.30pm, the person that greeted us didn’t look impressed with our arrival and told us to sit at a table in the conservatory. We sat there for ten minutes, then I went to look for a menu and couldn’t find one. Eventually a waitress came passed and managed to find one menu for us to share. We sat there for another 20 minutes waiting for our drink or food order to be taken but we sat there and were ignored by all of the staff on duty. We then left and we will drive to a proper 5 star hotel in Windermere. We will never return here and advise anyone that doesn’t want to be ignored to go elsewhere

Myself & my husband have just stayed here for a long weekend & were on a bed & breakfast deal. The Hotel was ideally situated & although off a very busy junction you couldn’t hear the road noise too much. All of the staff were so so lovely & although we only ate in the restaurant for breakfast I had 3 different options & all were lovely & fresh. There are lots of restaurants in the area for evening meal options. The only 2 minor problems we had was we were in an adjoining room that had a door between us & the room next door. The people in the room next to us had a young baby & although I love children, as a couple in our 50s we were away for some peace & quiet from our busy lives & because of the adjoining door you could hear everything. The other issue was there was a wedding there & clearly a lot of rooms where booked out by the guests who most must have been on our corridor as they regularly congregated outside of our room talking to each other & also didn’t seem to think anything of letting their children run up & down the corridor. Maybe some better thought could be given to where guests are placed - ie non wedding guests placed in rooms away from wedding guests. Overall it didn’t ruin our stay & wouldn’t stop us staying again - thank you

We love this Hotel, calm, relaxing and a firm favourite of ours now. Staff fantastic, friendly and welcoming. The FYR has the best steaks and the Chef will come and talk with you. The SPA is relaxing and has everything you want and need. Again, Staff were welcoming and accommodating. Breakfast was superb, He had just toast after minutes of deliberation, and I had the Eggs Royal. I love this Hotel, love love love!

Cannot fault anything about this stay, from the first person we saw in checkout to everyone throughout our stay were so helpful and lovely. The room was spacious, lovely & clean. The special touches of an anniversary plate in our room. The bed was the comfiest bed I have slept in, in a hotel. Drinks reasonably priced and lovely atmosphere. Pool facilities are good. I love that you can get fresh cold water or milk from the water and milk tanks in the corridor. Would definitely return, thank you!

We have stayed here before and enjoyed it. This time it didn’t deliver as it normally does. 1. Bedding was so creased it was uncomfortable 2. Cleaners knocking on the door at 09:30 3. No one on the desk at night - they are there and the hotel is secure but not readily available 4. Breakfast only runs until 10:00

Booked in for one night and had phoned the week before to request a twin room and add the spa on to our booking. Initially given a double but Grace on reception changed it immediately and gave us complimentary spa access as the systems were down. Used the bar to eat and the kitchen were very accommodating to our dietary requirements. Comfortable, uniquely decorated rooms with some lovely features- I particularly liked the milk machines on each floor and the lovely little touches in each room. Robes and slippers provided and usb charging points next to the beds.

My partner and I booked to stay at North Lakes Hotel and Spa as a last-minute break to the lakes. We were just disappointed we only booked to stay here for the 1 night! Great for families, couples and business trips. The location was ideal for us, with it being such a close drive to some of the popular hiking areas. A fantastic option when choosing somewhere to stay in the lakes as it is priced a lot more reasonably than most, especially with it being the bank holiday weekend. The entrance, bar and dining area is very nicely decorated and has a very cosy feel to it. Our ensuite room was lovely, cosy, modern, clean, comfortable, and tidy. We were really impressed with the additional touches/facilities offered with this hotel, e.g. the fresh water and milk in each of the corridors. The spa/gym facilities were also great. We would definitely stay again and will certainly be recommending North Lakes Hotel & Spa to friends and family.
