Fort Continental Hotel

Very nice

This is a Great hotel. My room was beautiful. Staff was extremely friendly.

In advance to my arrival the hotel management tried to re-negotiate the established ******* online non-refundable rate asking for more money. I complained with *******. The affair seems to have been settled as I hadn’t any trouble or annoyance concerning payment when being there. Stayed 1 week. It is a somewhat modest facility. Pretty basic room. Smeared walls in the bathroom. Sheets were clean. The rooftop terrace offers probably the best views of Peshawar. Staff was amazing in helping me with any issue. Appreciate the complimentary shuttle-service to/from the airport. Breakfast was somewhat scarce with few choice of local cuisine which repeated almost unchanged every morning. Location is central and convenient, although outside the old city.

The hotel was virtually empty. We were the only customers in the restaurant but 2 chicken sandwiches took 3/4 to arrive. Ordered green tea for the room which never came. A large random man twice barged into my room on various pretexts which as a single older woman made me feel uncomfortable. The room wasn’t clean and smelled of damp & cigarette smoke. Couldn’t see the famous fort view as the windows were filthy. I was directly underneath the kitchen which had a tiled floor so I was kept awake until 0230 and from 0645 by the noise of furniture being dragged around, despite being assured that the dining room closed at 2300. Was offered a room change when I complained at 0130 but undressed and unpacked this was not a good solution. Was meant to stay two nights but checked out after one & was refused a refund. Peshawar is well worth a visit but I’d do it in a long day from Islamabad.

Staffs were friendly and helpful Location of hotel excellent close to bus metro and bazar so easy to ho everywhere and get food

Very comfortable and pleasant stay in the heart of Peshawar. Very good breakfast included with our room.

I think Peshawar has a limited number of hotels that one would consider staying at. This is certainly an average hotel (reflected in the price per night) - but it’s not brilliant value for money either. My reasons are as follows: 1. Breakfast - limited options. A bit basic - but it’s a not a big deal. Most people will find something to eat. Plus I don’t care all that much for breakfast. 2. Cleanliness - could be better. The sheets are more off white than brilliant white. There are plenty of watermarks on the surfaces. The corners are obviously overlooked when cleaning - this applies to the hair left in the shower drain. Not ideal when the water doesn’t clear from the shower as quickly as you’d like and your me standing in a puddle. 3. Staff - very pleasant at reception. Helpful when making enquiries. 4. Location - close to the historical bit of Peshawar. It works. It is rather chaotic outside though - but that reflects the “dynamic” nature of the city itself. Would I come back? Not sure - would be dependent on what other hotels had vacancies at the time. It’s certainly somewhere I would tolerate as a lone traveller - but certainly wouldn’t book into with family.

Great service, even the room service was fast; the room was big and comfortable.

Staff available was good but it seems that due to there being less staff, this meant less ability to maintain cleanliness especially when it came to changing bed linen/towels etc.
