Great location. The staff are friendly. The bed is good, but the bathroom and room are a bit outdated. There is no refrigerator, which is a bit inconvenient.

Friendly, old style hotel. In the middle of the downtown. The only thing missing were no usb sockets to charge mobile phones.

Great location (to the convention center). There’s no individual temperature control (which I didn’t know beforehand). Everything was fine (temperature). I was on the 4th floor and Wi-Fi was fairly unstable unfortunately. It didn’t impact my stay, but consistent WiFi would be helpful. Staff downstarls was great!

This historical hotel is fascinating and beautiful. I didn’t get his name, but I love the gentleman that checked us in and checked us out. His passion for the property and historical knowledge really added to my experience.

Unique old hotel. Really could use an upgrade with pillows and beds. Loved that there was a bottle opener in the bathroom.

The San Carlos was the right price for what I needed for a weeklong business trip. The room was small and mostly outdated. The TV was not a flat screen. There was no refrigerator in the room. The upholstery was on the older side. All that said, it served its purpose. A place to crash at night that was within walking distance of the Phoenix Convention Center. It was clean. The staff was pleasant at the front desk and honored my No Service Requested sign throughout the week.
Certainly not a 5-star hotel but if you need a place to rest your head and don't care about amenities, this hotel is a viable option.
