Hotels Near Anfiteatro Fonte Mazzola in Pisa

Wonderful service, wonderfully located hotel. A short walk to the Leaning Tower of Pisa, restaurants everywhere and a lovely gelato shop about 5 minutes away. A 12 minute walk from the Pisa Centrale train station so this hotel is extensive convenient. Breakfast was included in my room package that I booked for my family so every morning we would go to the pastry shop right around the corner where breakfast is served, a coffee drink and a delicious pastry to start us on our day. Next time we are in Pisa again we will DEFINITELY stay at Leonardo Hotel again…..until next time.

I booked this hotel after seeing another reviewer say that they stayed here as a solo female traveller and found it clean and safe. I would echo this reviewer's comments. I stayed here for five nights, and used Pisa as a base to travel to other places (namely Lucca, Firenze, and Siena) so wanted somewhere within a reasonable walking distance of the train station as I envisioned returning to the hotel when it was dark. I took the 'Pisa mover' shuttle from the airport to Pisa Centrale station (which cost €5 and took around 5 minutes), and then the walk to Hotel Bologna with my suitcase was in pretty much a straight line through the main square and down paved and well lit streets. It took around 7 minutes to walk from the station to the hotel. I arrived at Hotel Bologna at around 10:00 and was able to leave my suitcase in a secure room (no charge) whilst I spent the day exploring Pisa. I came back around 18:00, collected my case, and formally checked in (although I could have checked in at 13:30) before heading out for dinner. Staff were mainly young and male, and were pleasant and spoke very good English. I was allocated room 16 which was on the first floor and overlooked the small car park and a patio area. There was no external noise apart from the odd aeroplane which cannot be helped anywhere in Pisa, although I imagine that (1) people might use the patio for drinks in better/warmer weather which would bother me if they were rowdy; and (2) people in the rooms which overlook the road at the front of the hotel (Via Giuseppe Mazzini) might experience a bit of traffic noise. The internal walls seemed quite thin and I suspect that the bathroom of the adjoining room was located right next to my bed as it was noisier than expected when they were having a shower and talking in the bathroom. However, luckily, the people next door weren't particularly noisy and showered at a reasonable time, so it didn't bother me per se. I stayed in a single room (single bed with en-suite) which was definitely big enough for just myself/did not feel cramped. The room was decorated in a more 'traditional Tuscan style' (think greens, reds, and golds) so not particularly 'instagram worthy' but neither am I. The room and bathroom felt and were kept very clean by housekeeping, as were the bedding and towels. The bathroom contained a toilet, shower cubicle with sliding doors, bidet, sink with large mirror, tissue dispenser, sanitary bag dispenser, toilet brush, bin with lid, and hairdryer. You receive complimentary shampoo, body wash, intimate wash, vegetable based soap bar, shower cap, and shoe sponge. In the bedroom there is another bin and a desk and chair with large mirror. Underneath the desk is a mini fridge containing a range of drinks and snacks, which I removed and instead used the fridge to store my own food and drink which I purchased from a Carrefour Express minimart which was a circa 5 minute walk away near the main shopping street. We had a twin room for 2 nights at the beginning of our holiday and 1 night at the end of our holiday. The first part of our stay was ok -- at least there was a split type air conditioner that worked! (though I could see the air con itself was very dusty!). The bathroom was very congested, shower cubicle, toilet and bidet packed together. One couldn't even sit properly on the toilet! The second part of our stay was much worser -- the built-in type air conditioner was not working. We opened the window but it was still too noisy at almost 12:00, we could hear people talking downstairs. It was too hot so we could not sleep well. Besides, the bathroom was even smaller -- there was no proper shower cubicle, just a shower curtain, so you could imagine that after a shower, the whole bathroom was like flooding! Again, as it was small, one could hardly use the toilet properly and needed to be extra careful not to be hit by tower rack and sink worktop. To conclude, even if the location is close to Pisa Central station, while paying at this price, I would not recommend it.

Terrible hotel- dirty, leaks in the bathroom and horrendous staff. Only positive was the food was good. We asked to move rooms because there was a drilling tools exhibition outside our bedroom from 9-10pm whilst we were trying to sleep because Vueling airlines had canceled our flight and put us on a flight which required us to be collected at 3:45am the following morning. We were also told that the people running the exhibition had booked the hotel before us and could make noise until 12am. Staff like this will cause the hotel to have no more guests- good luck.

Me and my boyfriend stayed here for 5 days and we loved every minute ! It was amazing ! People were lovely and anything we needed help with such as public transport or ordering a taxi they were happy to help. We booked breakfast included which was definitely worth it as the breakfast had a variety of options and it was delicious. The location of the hotel wasn’t in the central of Pisa but still a great place to have it and a bus stop is right outside the hotel so once we had figured out the bus system it was super useful. Overall a great hotel and great customer service.

We traveled to hotel end of June / beg July. We arrived late so restaurant just closing. We then had a very poor dining experience at a local bar and vowed not to return there. We had very helpful hotel reception staff from Fabrizio and Serena who helped us so much during our visit. We would like to commend some very special staff in the hotel: Laura, Beatrice, Gabriel Senior / Gabriel Junior and Flavia who made our stay brilliant with their happy faces and helpfulness at Breakfast and Dinner (when we dined there.) Special thanks to our room lady who helped sort our room daily and who went beyond her job and sorted out our balcony lounger. Pool was wonderful - beach was great / sandy - took some travelling out to get to swim. Had a lovely few nights with pianist in bar where Savioure was a brilliant master of the bar - listening to all stories and could make a great Martini. Take care to make sure you click on / off any buses using credit cards and also dont forget to validate your train tickets as can be a pricey fine. We had a great holiday. Thanks to all xx PS Taxi arrangements (airport transfer) through hotel are very unreliable though so although prices quoted at hotel are not valid and paid extra on arrival and hotel bookings unreliable as our return home, the taxi never arrived despite checking with hotel x2 prior to departure so required another company to get us to airport.

Campeggio tenuto in condizioni perfette. Gestione minuziosa e attenta a ogni singola esigenza. La pulizia è impeccabile e nelle aree comuni non è affatto scontato. Spiaggia tenuta dal bagnino Angelo in modo encomiabile, ordinata, pulita e ben organizzata. Spritz buonissimi al bar. Ristorante buono e con prezzi onesti. Nulla da dire. Sicuramente da tornare 😃
