The whole ambiance of Killycrankie House oozes style with quality and comfort.The personal and appropriately friendly and knowledgable service was first class. The food was amazing and the breakfasts unique. Dinner bed and breakfast was a gift to my husband and I and the whole experience was one I will never forget for being so special and unique.

This place is simply outstanding. We stayed overnight in a wonderful room with the dining experience. It begins with snacks (amazing!) in the lounge where modern music on a record player with vinyl LP's creates a very informal atmosphere. The intimate restaurant overlooks the chef's area where Tom and his team create some incredible dishes. There are a number of wine flight options to complement each course. Matilda was a super host, taking the time to describe/explain each course and wine. The whole experience lasted 3.5 hours. It was a memorable evening and, if we get the chance, would love to return one day.

This was the surprise of the holiday. Recommended by a “foodie” friend that likes his Michelin stars. This places’ taster menu left everywhere else miles behind. Innovative. Delicious. An experience. A true delicious surprise at very reasonable prices. The cocktails. The wine pairings. The attention to detail. THE FOOOOOD. Second to none. Grab this experience while it is still value for money. How this place isn’t booked up for months in advance beggars belief. This is a magnificent restaurant - with rooms. But the rooms are very special. I want people to go. Buttttt I want this secret gem to be special so I don’t have to book months in advance. It deserves recognition. Put simply - a special place that will spoil you.

We arrived to the warmest of welcomes, we ate the most delicious food, we slept in the most comfortable and well equipped room and enjoyed the most wonderful experience. Matilda, Tom and all the staff are truly exceptional. If ever a restaurant deserves a Michelin Star it's this one!

This is luxury without being pretentious, a warm welcome and a relaxed yet very well run operation. The food is on another level, 16 courses in total and each one memorable. There is so much attention to detail and it’s clear the owners are passionate about food and produce. The staff were outstanding and very knowledgeable. If you want a real treat go and stay there, you won’t be disappointed.

We had a wonderful day combining an afternoon Scotch tasting, superb tasting menu and overnight accommodation. Every component was excellent. The whisky tasting was very informative and featured generous pours of several fine malts. The multi course dinner was imaginative and perfectly executed. Wine pairings impressed. Service was friendly and professional. Retiring upstairs to a beautiful, comfortable accommodation capped off a memorable evening. The morning breakfast was essentially a deconstructed classic Scottish breakfast featuring delicious scrambled eggs with leeks. This is about as good as it gets.

We cannot thank Tom & Matilda enough for the extraordinary culinary experience, wonderful stay and the unforgettable memories. We have been lucky enough to dine & stay at some great places but this is a cut above the rest as they offer a truly unique experience. Their attention to detail and the work that they and their team give to each and every guest is exceptional. They deserve every bit of praise and accolades. We cannot wait to return!

Fabulous overall experience at Killiecrankie House. A beautiful renovation creating a very contemporary hotel in the middle of rural Scotland. Giant, comfortable four poster bed, shuttered windows etc. Large, comfortable bedroom with fabulous, large, modern bathroom - standalone bath, double sinks, huge shower, lovely toiletries and big fluffy towels. Restaurant serves a tasting menu heavily influenced by Japanese cuisine. Imaginative creative food. Very fish oriented. The restaurant space is generous with an open kitchen. The kitchen/cooking staff are also the servers of the food - nice touch. Wine list is good, if a touch expensive. Breakfast is interesting. All 5 rooms served at same time, 9am, and served a selection of cold and hot dishes at your table - no menu/choice. The personal touch is everywhere. The lounge area is big and airy with modern furniture and background music is via vintage vinyl LP's - a nice touch. Why not 5* then? The food was technically very good but perhaps didn't pack enough zing. The menu, until the venison course felt like a fine dining Japanese meal - not what I expected or indeed my favourite cuisine. But I did appreciate the work and the service. Overall, good enough that I'll certainly be back!
