The Old Mill Inn

A little gem of a hotel tucked back on the main street in Pitlochry. We stayed in a deluxe room and ate in the hotel. The room was excellent, clean, well-appointed, and spacious. The food was excellent; the chefs know what they are doing! Breakfast cooked fresh for you and great choice. They cater for both gluten and lactose free diets. What sets this place apart are the staff. Friendly, knowledgeable, thoughtful, attentive. Exemplary really. Will definitely go back.

The Old Mill Inn is a popular destination in Pitlochry not just for lodging but for its pub scene. It is a bit of a challenge to find the entrance as it is set back from the main road and accessable from a circular driveway that is easy to miss as it looks much like a pedestrian walkway. Once you figure it out you will see a large group of outdoor tables, every one of which will be filled in the early evening. We got the last parking spot in the small lot. The reception area is at the end of the bar and the rooms are spread over three floors. The room we stayed in had some issues and, while that was disappointing, the staff bent over backward to address the situation as best they could. Note that there is music on the weekends and, while our stay was on a week night, certain rooms that overlook the front of the Inn can be noisy, as a result. If you are staying over a weekend and want to get to sleep early, it is best to request a room that doesn't overlook the front of the Inn.

A wonderful hotel, set back from the main road with a lovely patio looking over the mill and a brook. The staff was friendly, accommodating and professional. Our room was fabulous with a window overlooking the brook with a small cascade. It was large, clean and very comfortable. We enjoyed a fabulous dinner in the restaurant. Would recommend this hotel completely!!!

Beautiful, well equipped room, modern with all amenities. Friendly, helpful, polite and professional staff. Delicious food for breakfast and dinner. Fabulous location. On site parking. We would highly recommend the Old Mill Inn Pitlochry.

Very comfortable bed, hot shower, lovely décor and in a wonderful spot in the middle of the town. The staff were ALL wonderful and we will definitely stay here again when visiting the area. The restaurant has a good, varied menu and the food was good quality at breakfast, lunch & dinner!

We stayed at another hotel for the Etape weekend last year and we were sorely disappointed.. so this year we went for the Old Mill Inn and weren’t disappointed in the least! We arrived mid afternoon on pre race day and managed to get a parking space easily at the rear of the hotel. The booking in process was easy and the girl showed us around the hotel, took us to our room and made sure we had somewhere to store our bikes overnight. The room itself is fantastic, spacious, clean, comfortable and very well equipped! We booked dinner and found the restaurant and garden were absolutely heaving with other customers! Despite this, the staff were very quick to take our order and we had no delay waiting on our food and drinks! They were all so friendly and nothing was too much. The food itself was lovely and the atmosphere spot on! We were provided with a very early breakfast service by the staff due to the race on Sunday, some of whom were cycling with us. Food was made to order and again was served quickly and without fuss. I’d highly recommend the eggs Benedict! The inn is located right off the Main Street, so we didn’t have to wait in cycle pens half an hour before the race started.. we simply walked out the door and joined our group as they cycled past on way to start line. It was worth it for this alone. After the race we attended the after party in the tent where the band last orders (awesome) were playing from 4. Party atmosphere didn’t come close, we had an absolute ball and were sorry when we had to call it a day! We will absolutely be coming back here and would recommend this place to anyone who is visiting, especially over the Etape weekend, Thank you to the staff for making our visit so memorable! Loved the hotel and bedrooms they were immaculate and stunning decor, my only complaint I don’t know what you have below the sheets, but it felt like there was an electric blanket on all night, very uncomfortably hot night.

Our most recent stay was, as always, first class. The food, accommodation, and staff were superb. A perfect experience from beginning to end.
