We stayed at another hotel for the Etape weekend last year and we were sorely disappointed.. so this year we went for the Old Mill Inn and weren’t disappointed in the least! We arrived mid afternoon on pre race day and managed to get a parking space easily at the rear of the hotel. The booking in process was easy and the girl showed us around the hotel, took us to our room and made sure we had somewhere to store our bikes overnight. The room itself is fantastic, spacious, clean, comfortable and very well equipped! We booked dinner and found the restaurant and garden were absolutely heaving with other customers! Despite this, the staff were very quick to take our order and we had no delay waiting on our food and drinks! They were all so friendly and nothing was too much. The food itself was lovely and the a**osphere spot on! We were provided with a very early breakfast service by the staff due to the race on Sunday, some of whom were cycling with us. Food was made to order and again was served quickly and without fuss. I’d highly recommend the eggs Benedict! The inn is located right off the Main Street, so we didn’t have to wait in cycle pens half an hour before the race started.. we simply walked out the door and joined our group as they cycled past on way to start line. It was worth it for this alone. After the race we attended the after party in the tent where the band last orders (awesome) were playing from 4. Party a**osphere didn’t come close, we had an absolute ball and were sorry when we had to call it a day! We will absolutely be coming back here and would recommend this place to anyone who is visiting, especially over the Etape weekend, Thank you to the staff for making our visit so memorable!
