A lovely hotel in a quiet setting. Bar service was a bit slow but available most times during the day. Food service was ok. Breakfast was good… wide variety… although fruit could have been fresher, ( apple was brown). Dinner at night was ok. Entertainer was good, enjoyed his music and cheerfulness. Difficult to get a taxi on the day we left and was pouring with rain. Staff were really helpful and took us to the train for which we were really grateful! I suggest booking a cab the day before.
Our room was comfortable and a good size. However the bathroom window curtains need attention. A shower curtain pinned up with press studs wasn’t appropriate for security and privacy!
We would stay again.

Really enjoyed our stay here. Parts of of the hotel are in need of upgrading but staff were very helpful, food was good and our room was also very good. The facilities - pool etc are really good. We were there for a few days of relaxation and this was achieved, overall we enjoyed our stay.

Very friendly and helpful staff, it's a lovely older fashioned victorian built hotel, clean and tidy rooms, an overal pleasant stay. Nice food and drinks. Nice and quiet stay and woke up rested and had a nice breakfast that had a lot of choices and enjoyed.

Just back from an overnight night stay at this hotel. Not worth the £156.60 we paid. Very, very basic mis matched room. Bathroom was clean but the shower was practically a drip and the control for the temperature was broken, thankfully the drips were warm. Do not go on the room photographs on the website as these are obviously the “best” rooms being shown, our curtains were like something from a caravan and matched nothing in the room, right enough, anyone would struggle to match anything to them 😂 Breakfast was really good, good selection of hot and cold choices and were kept filled up. We would say our room was worse than a Travelodge, but certainly not a Travelodge price.

Floor sinks beneath your feet. Heating is oil based and hard to regulate. Only double bed, not qween. Bathroom is poor; shower is hard to get hot water and leaks; toilet does not flush well; all old fittings; and has mould/grime. Bar and restaurant are nice though bad heating. Not a recommended stay; better off in 2 star motel.
