Let's start with the good.. Pros: - The hotel was central to what we wanted. It was a 15 mins car ride from the University of Pitt ( we came to tour the college). It was walkable to the main square and to the stadiums ( longer walk but def doable) - Curtis and the wonderful blonde woman( sorry I didn't catch your name, she wore a red blazer on 4/20) at the front desk. They were there during the day and were really nice, and helped map out a walk for us. Curtis even went outside and showed us exactly what street to walk down. They were very hospitable - The bartender Saturday night was also very nice and even helped me get some plates for dinner. - Rooms were big and beds were comfy. Cons: - the hotel is run down. As a Hilton Gold member I received a credit for breakfast. I went to the one restaurant on property. Even though there is a menu in the elevator with breakfast, we were told we couldn't order from it and had to do the $22 breakfast. It was okay... small selection for a paid buffest. There was someone making omelets but they had to get him from the back, and he didn't seem too happy to do it. Staff was pleasant but not very warm. - Out of the 4 elevators, 2 were working while we were there. During peak times, you had to wait a very long time for an elevator. - the front desk guy that was there Friday and Saturday night seemed to not want to be there. When we checked in Friday he was going through the motions, no smile and I had to ask for a cookie. -Then on Saturday we had a rodent problem in our room. We called down and the lady said to come down and we will change your room immediately. We came down and the same guy just went through the motions and gave me the new keys. I had to say.. " That's it??". He then apologized for the issue and offered compensation. I would not return or recommend unless you need something quick and close to somewhere you need to be.
