The staff were all very friendly and knowledgeable. The continental breakfast was decent, but not great. The location is fantastic if you're in town for a ballgame. However, my room was at the very north end of the hotel near the highway and the road noises at night was pretty bad/loud due to the elevated roadway.
The reason for my terrible rating on cleanliness is that when I turned down my sheets, I had black flecks of something all in my sheets, as well as a long dark hair under the top sheet I could see. Additionally, I had some sort of dead bug on my side table. It looked like potentially a bed bug, so I didn't get much sleep the only night I was there.
I'd recommend this hotel to stay at with a few caveats of asking for a room on the south end of the hotel as well as checking your sheets as soon as you get into your room.

The continental breakfast was amazing! They offered hot oatmeal with different toppings, turkey sausage and there were 2 waffle makers. Most hotels do not have variety like this one. The staff was friendly and they offer shuttle bus service to PPG Paint Arena.

We picked the hotel based on location and the Marriott name. The hotel definitely didn't meet Marriott expectations. The bathroom was dirty and falling apart. The toilet didn't flush properly. The front desk was notified but nothing was done. The shower wallpaper was peeling and there were cracks and holes in the ceiling. We asked for an extra pillow, blanket and towel. The front desk attendant told us she couldn't promise anything since they were booked after she rolled her eyes. We did get a towel (that smelled) and a pillow but never got the blanket. When packing to check out, housekeeping was outside the door telling us they needed to clean. We still had time before checking out.

Great location in downtown Pittsburgh--right across the street from PNC Field. Room was contemporary styled and clean, with comfortable beds and room amenities. (Hot water could have been hotter.) Good (not great) continental breakfast in lobby every morning. The attached SoHo restaurant looks like it's worth trying. Will dine there next time I'm in town.

Really shocked that a Marriott would allow the shower curtain, while hanging, touch the toilet bowl. Try using toilet without the curtain getting in the way- touching you while you do your business. Not acceptable. If you really care, have a human reading this, and want photo- I have 2 for you.

We loved the pool and the breakfast bar in the morning ! At night we visited the bar down stairs and relaxed by the fire place outside, very nice!
