All-around excellence, from the receptionists to the rooms to the other staff! The man who brought us to our room, Matt, was knowledgeable about the city and directed us to several very good restaurants and gave us tips for other things. My partner didn't realize until we got home that he had left his four brand-new Brooks Bros. shirts behind. John, in Housekeeping came to the rescue. He retrieved the shirts and arranged for them to be sent. Thank you so much! My only quibble would be with the house-keeping staff not replenishing wash cloths, and clean glasses and cups for hot beverages daily.

This hotel has the potential to provide a great vacation experience. However, there are a couple of easy to fix things that prevented us from having the experience we had hoped for and thus mean I would not recommend this hotel to others. For the price I would expect there to be facilities in the room to make a hot drink. In fact, apart from youth hostels, I haven't stayed in a hotel room without coffee / tea making facilities for over 30 years. There is coffee provided downstairs in the lobby, but this is a long trek for a cup of caffeine and every time I went it was out of coffee, tea or hot water. It is also only available till 10.30am so not very convenient. The other major disappointment was that despite advertising bicycles being available for all guests, this was not the case. Thus, we had to rent from bike the burgh (which is an experience I would recommend). I would also expect a hotel in this price range to include a bottle of water in the room, at least upon arrival. The use of umbrellas was a nice touch and the room was very comfortable. The location is great, but they need to make a few easy changes to their service as what should be a positive stay experience was not.

A very nice, quiet, well-maintained hotel, convenient location, nice restaurant. Building systems — HVAC and water — remain a problem worth fixing.

Stayed in the city for my husband’s birthday. Room was nice with stylish decor. So many restaurants and fun things to do in walking distance. Only complaint would be the shower head not being very strong. But overall we had a great stay.
