The hotel looks nice, but is very noisy. Specially during mornings when you are sleeping. The restaurant on first floor starts working from 6:30 am and walls are very thin. So you hear lots of noise and hard to sleep well. But still they have good promotions for free messages and other stuff. I recommend getting a room on 3rd floor to have least noise.

Returning to The Reef 28 in Playa Del Carmen for a second visit, we were reminded why we loved this hotel initially. The check-in process is consistently welcoming, and the hotel's aromatic ambiance immediately impresses upon entry. Dining at the luncheon and dinner Mexican restaurant offers decent food with outstanding service—a standard upheld across all dining options at the hotel. However, our experiences were not without issues. The suite we stayed in had a poorly designed shower that leaked water, contributing to a persistently damp smell in the room. Also, both during our initial visit and this one, the quality of the alcoholic beverages was disappointing, leading us to switch to soda. Moreover, the pool and Jacuzzi are noticeably worn and in need of refurbishment. Despite these drawbacks, the highlight remains Luis on the rooftop, who consistently makes our experience exceptional. Overall, The Reef 28 still stands out for its remarkable service and delightful atmosphere, though some areas could benefit from attention and improvement

Once again. Another AMAZING Reef trip. We’ve stayed at Reef 28 for the 4th time and once again we can’t wait to come back. The Roof top pool experience is the best in all of Playa Del Carmen. It’s better than the beach (seriously). You can’t beat the vibe with the live DJ and AMAZING food. The fish tacos I crave all year long. Luis gave us AMAZING service all week long. He was kind and remembered our favorite drinks and food and brought us extra just because. He made the experience next level. We were even greeted by the Manager Jorge who was making sure we were having an excellent time. Our bed at the Resort is amazing. I wish I could ship it home. I get some of the best sleep all year at the Reef 28. We had dinner at the restaurants at 28 every night and were left happy and full every night. The food is best in all of Playa Del Carmen. Isreal gave me great service at the front desk. He even remember me and my name from our previous trips. He was kind and attentive to our needs. Brenda from concierge went above and beyond with some extra needs I had. She was amazing. Then our massages. OMG. AMAZING I had Denise and two others whose names I can’t remember. My wife had Guillermo and she said it was amazing as well. We did the hydrotherapy everyday and wish I could do everyday in life. The Okom spa is GORGEOUS. The Rooftop, the spa, the food, the service, THANK YOU REEF 28 for another amazing vacation.

Rooms were decent but very dark with limited daylight exposure. Beds were average and pillows not good. Shower Rainfall was great but Hot Water only lasted about 30 mins.
Rooftop pool was nasty as it should be resurfaced. Spas on top don’t have hot or even warm water?Rooftop Music was absolutely Horrible and DJ’s played abominable low vibration music often.
Our Rooftop server Luis was amazing and one of the best things about the hotel. Food was just average. Gym on the roof is terrible and should have more cardio and strength training equipment.
We travel to PDC often and this hotel was definitely a one hit wonder.
