Riu Palace Mexico - All Inclusive

My wife and I vacationed here in May 2024 for my birthday. I can't say enough good things about this hotel. Our room was beautiful and cleaned daily. By the time we finished our breakfast the room was serviced and our refrigerator restocked. The beach is absolutely gorgeous and we never had a problem finding lounge chairs. Luckily, there was no sea****. We went swimming everyday!! The four pools are beautiful as well but you have to go down early to find lounges. The food in Don Juiian (the buffet) was awesome. The Steakhouse was also great and their surf and turf was outstanding. The entertainment team does and amazing job keeping you involved. Their nightly shows were also great and my wife and I went every night. Lastly the staff goes above and beyo nd yo make sure you have a great experience. We tipped the staff everyday. Leave a couple dollars after meals and you get five star trea**ent!!! Jack and Wanda Bronx, N.Y.

My husband and I stayed at the Riu Palace Mexico for a 6 night getaway in February 2024. The front staff were very welcoming and professional upon our arrival. Our only issue was that our room wasn’t ready until 4PM despite checkin being at 3PM. The property is gorgeous and the landscaping is extremely well kept. The beach was absolutely stunning. The beach was cleaned every morning and the water is a beautiful blue. There were an abundance of loungers available (if you got there early) and delicious drinks being served throughout the day. The resort was thoroughly cleaned daily. Our room was very clean. We did have an issue with our keys not working one day but staff handled it promptly. The food was mediocre. You could always find something to eat but if you’re used to fine dining then you won’t be impressed. The Mexican food was the best and taco bars did not disappoint. I would recommend this spot if you’re looking for a great beach, kind people, and a clean space!

My sister & I made reservations to stay at Riu Palace Mexico 3/4-3/18. Unfortunately, my sister slipped on a wet tile floor and injured her back, so we had to leave unexpectedly with two days left unused of our vacation. As we checked out the agent at the RIU desk assured us they were only going to charge Pleasant Holidays for 12 days only and that the two unused days would be refunded to us. Since March we have made at least 4 attempts to get this refund. Apparently, Riu Palace Mexico did not follow through and charged Pleasant Holidays for 14 days instead of 12. We have boarding passes that show we left on day 12 NOT day 14. We have used Riu for years but with this inaccurate record keeping we will probably not return.

Great location, beautiful hotel and beach.

Finally visited the RIU Palace Mexico after many visits to the Riviera Maya. First impressions where positive as we where shown to our Top floor room with its Courtyard view after a long long days travel from the UK. FACILITIES. This hotel offers an all Inclusive holiday and backs up its reputation with a very good package. Thr main buffet is more than adequate and offers a wide selection of hot and cold food with themed nights . Three A La Carte restaurants are waiting to be sampled plus a Steak house with is down by the 3 swimming pools and a Gym plus a 24 hour snack bar. The main bar is beautiful and air conditioning throughout allows you to relax in comfort.. SERVICE . This hotel offered us outstanding service during our stay. From reception to the bar tenders and staff Nothing was too much trouble and you were waited upon with a smile. Would definitely recommend staying here for the service alone. Excellent service. 10/10. FOOD. Excellent main buffet , air conditioned and comfortable selection in the evenings and at breakfast time but we thought the lunch time buffet down by the pools was manic at times and despite a good selection of food had a feeling of organised chaos some days. ROOMS. Modern bright purple theme rooms here with an open styled bathroom including a Jacuzzi and double sink amenities. Strange layout with a nice walk in shower but a very small WC and hazardous and slippery step down to a small balcony. Air conditioning was excellent and the safe and wardrobe space was standard. A**OSPHERE. Lively at times but generally laid back. BEACH. The beach is superb but be aware the sea can be rough and wouldn’t suit kids. Plenty of room and sun beds are numerous .VALUE / WOULD WE RETURN. This hotel has a bit of panache. It’s pricey but you do get that bit extra. We found many clients here make an effort and it’s good to see. Would Most definitely return some day. We would highly recommend this hotel for anyone who likes that bit of fun during the day mixed in with some lovely service and relaxation. We stayed here April for 14 night.

Hotel is in a fabulous Location and has a really great a**osphere Staff are fantastic and so friendly, can’t remember all their names but special thanks to javi, German and colleagues at the pool bar, rigo Omar, elena and colleagues at the lobby bar, tori, alex and colleagues on the entertainment team. You really made our holiday great. Loved tori’s spanish lesson so fun and informative. Loved the mariachi band, they were amazing. Rooms do have dated deco as mentioned in other reviews but they are spacious and spotless thanks to teresa and cleaning colleagues. Great choice of food and service is excellent at all the restaurants. Favourite alacarte restaurants were the steakhouse, Japanese and Krystal. Least favourites were the Italian and Mexican. Staff are continuously cleaning all areas and maintaining the grounds. Couple of minor issues in room with faulty safe and toilet which were sorted immediately. Can’t fault this hotel, felt very safe would highly recommend.
