Paradisus Playa del Carmen - Riviera Maya - All Inclusive

We went on a family vacation here with our two kids (both almost 5 ) and had a wonderful time. The best part of this resort for us was the all day activities and entertainment for children. The pirate pool was our go to and it was great it wasn’t over 4 feet deep. Also there was consistent food and drink service at the pools which was awesome. The kids club and caregivers were top notch. Special shout out to Yessina Yadira Karen and Carlotq. Our kids went to the kids club at least once a day. They had activities day and night that spanned from crafts to sand castles and excursions to the water park on site. They could go for an hr a day if they wanted or stay for several hrs. Also the property is super convenient. It’s big but not overwhelming and restaurants are all centrally located. We also got the Nikte service and Nestor our concierge was top notch. He was super helpful and responsive and gave us a ton of helpful tips. He also secured our daily dinner reservations which wasn’t the easiest to navigate on our own. Our family also enjoyed the shows at night which were fun for the whole family. Lots of local talent and cultural shows for everyone to enjoy. The only con I would say was the food for adults. It’s not 5 star per se but that’s fine. Solid four stars for adult food and service. The best thing for us was always the availability for kids food options - esp the ice cream bar. The drinks were solid - esp the passion fruit margaritas which they used actual passion fruit juice not syrup! Great memories were made and were excited to visit again someday.

DO NOT go to this resort unless you are prepared to get scammed. We were a group of 6 (3 rooms) that paid for the adult only side. When we arrived at the hotel we were told that our class of room on the adult side was sold out and in order to be on the adult side we would have to upgrade and pay $180 a night for a suite. Funny since the hotel was less than 50% occupied. Turns out we weren’t the only one’s this happened too. We encountered at least 6 others they pulled this on. Overall, it’s a beautiful property but disappointed in food quality and front desk service. Do yourself a favor and find an ethical resort to spend your money.

Food makes this review average, very limited choices, cheap food, minimal fruits.. exact same breakfast every morning for a week ( reminds me a airport hotel continental breakfast).. on the other hand- luxurious modern design s property and nice waterpark suitable for kids aged 7-9year old. If you got a cheap deal and dont mind cheap tasteless food with limited choices- it is definitely place to go

Nestor the butler/concierge and Nellie the bartender were absolutely phenomenal. Nestor went above and beyond to ensure my family and my daughter received a fantastic experience this trip. Without his assistance, it was likely to have receive a lower rating on review since we did have issues with AC and power outages in our room. Nestor was always quick to remedy any problems when he was on duty.

First night at Paradisus La Perla and dropped into Hadar buffet and had an awesome Indian Food experience and amazing margaritas. Roberto Cuevas made the experience, and was an excellent waiter. I highly recommend both the strawberry and mango margaritas, and Roberto will treat you right!

Spent 7 days at Paradisus Playa Del Carmen from May 10-17 with our 6 year old twins. Our favourite thing about the resort was the entertainment. Everyday there was something different and exciting for the kids to partake in, including foam parties at the pool, a water blow-up obstacle course, zip lining over the pool, a magic show, a circus show, and more! This was a really nice and unexpected addition to our trip! The waterpark Aquazone was SO much fun, we would go there everyday after lunch around 2pm and would stay until close (5pm). The pirate ship kids pool was nice to start our day as well. The resort at this time was only 50% capacity and you could tell, the pools were pretty quiet and we never had any issues reserving chairs or making reservations. We did the Italian and Hibachi twice and thoroughly enjoyed both. We did the organic restaurant too (Flora I think) and weren't as impressed. The buffet was 7/10, we've seen better with more selection, but it did the trick. Often undercooked bacon and too-wet scrambled eggs. Service from staff was great overall, we did room service each night and it was always prompt. Huge shout out to Eva Ciau, Angel Calli, Neftali Elizabet from the buffet (Naos) they were outstanding! We'd walk in for breakfast every morning and they'd have our memorized coffee/drink orders already started! They were so welcoming and attentive to us!!! One con I would say is that the resort isn't open onto the beach, it is seperated from the ocean by thick brush, so we definitely missed not having the ocean breeze or being able to eat at a restaurant overlooking the ocean. Due to this a lot of the lounge spaces felt quite stuffy - we'd love to see more fans around to circulate the air. The seaweed was not great on the beach but we saw them working diligently at it every single day - you could still swim and walk the beach no problem. The specialty ice cream and Nespresso boutiques (included) were very very good! Our kids did the kids club twice and had a lot of fun with it, and the turtles in the main lobby were adorable. GYM on adult side was fantastic! If you are a resort gym user, you'd be impressed. Room was pretty nice but the bedding could have been better, our beds had thin sheets that kept riding up exposing the bare mattress and I was surprised there wasn't mattress protectors. The AC worked well in 2180. Another thing is because it's a more eco resort with that brush, there are Coatis roaming around the pools and you need to be careful not to leave any food or drinks out as they will go through your bags or take it off your plate. I had a coati knock over my thermos and lick all over the straw for the juice inside - disgusting. Overall we had a great time with our kids!
