Pros Staff was accommodating and helpful Cons Unanswered requests to repair broken microwave (sign on it indicates it’s been broken for awhile) No cold water in secondary bath Poor drainage in sinks & toilets. Peeling coatings in kitchen

We stayed at Aldea Thai from July 4-July 9 2021. The hotel was clean and all the people were nice and professional except one. The person on the front at the street who checks bracelets, greets guests, etc. appeared to be in cahoots with the local police and the ************ on the street in front of the hotel. We were offered ***** just about every time we went out of the hotel, we were not there for ***** and were not interested. On the last night there only about 20 steps from the hotel entrance two uniformed police on motorcycles stopped us and demanded money. They implied that we had "*****" and they wanted all our US $. We were not drunk or acting in any way inappropriate, we had no *****, and they got $300 US from us and demanded another $300. When we told them that was all we had they demanded we go to an ATM and get more. We do not use debit cards, so then they demanded our passports. Luckily they were in our room, we told them that was all they were getting. The Aldea Thai employee was talking to two of the tattooed ************ like they were all good buddies and the police. I believe that they have a system set up where the *********er sells, the Aldea Thai employee observes and tips off the police, then they share the loot after they rob you. I have no proof of this, just what I observed and I know that we did not have any *****! These two police planned to plant them on us if they needed to! I will never go back to Playa Del Carmen again.

We had a booking for a suite and got even upgraded to the luxury suite with nice rooftop and incredible view, but lots of things were not working .. manager who upgraded us was really shady guy, came couple times without asking in our appartment and even in our rooms when we were sleeping to get payments - no receipts or anything, also got couple of random fines for friends visiting us .. it’s a nice hotel but we didn’t feel really save,i’d rather stay at oceana on the other side of the Street

We stayed with host Itai on Airbnb we remember it was room 106. We will attach photos of him and his place Our stay was horrible the first day we got there we checked how clean it was unfortunately there was mold under the beds the sheets and pillowed smelled of sweat there was hairs all over the bed and restrooms floors and the place smelled really bad of sewage we bought cleaning essentials for our stay to resolve the problem ourselves we did however contact Airbnb and we’re reimbursed for the cleaning fee a total of $101 We checked out before checkout time which was 11 AM however, the host decided to write a review that was totally false thank god we had proof of evreything overall the building is not that old great location just be sure to avoid this place in particular we will attach fotos below that prove me my wife and baby did nothing wrong ithai frida and David are liars avoid playa moments a vacation below is proof of everything please take you time to connect the dots

Do not stay at this hotel regardless of anything. Hotel management is extremely rude. At 9 am of check out day the manager of hotel enters room without knocking and saying check out is in a few hours.

Aldea Thai is a beautiful place and conveniently located if you want to party at Coralina Daylight Club, however, the people at Mistik have very bad customer service and attention to detail. We rented 2 Master Pools and at the time of reservation they said they would upgrade one to a Penthouse Platinum. Both units were acceptable, honestly the fridge could have been cleaner but very little amenities within each. Barely had enough plates, mugs, cups and cutlery for the people staying there, there is no dishwasher, they had no trash bags and one of our toilets was broken upon check in. When I reached out about the toilet they said that it wouldn't be fixed on time and that I couldn't ask for a discount because I was upgraded. The toilet was unusable for a day or two of our two night stay and finally got fixed. We had to raise hell to get trash bags. The people at the reception don't own the condos but they are still THE MOST UNHELPFUL PEOPLE EVER. Pool has a bar and the bartender is rarely there - getting ice takes her 2 hours. Also they won't clean the condos or even give you extra towels unless you're there for 5+ nights. There's also no washer or dryer inside the condo so your towels will be dirty. Our host Saul did the best he could but it's clear he has not been given the tools to properly take care of guests. I was very disappointed with the place over all - it was an acceptable place to sleep but would not go back and would not recommend to others.
