Rosewood Mayakoba

After visiting Rosewood Mayakoba for the first time, it’s obvious why this property is one of the Crown Jewels of Rosewood’s portfolio. We have never experienced such impeccable service with mind-blowingly personal touches around every corner. Every member of the staff was so welcoming and accommodating, from our butlers Gerry and Valeria, to the spa staff (especially Gustavo who even coached us through the cold plunge!). Each employee we encountered was kind, caring, and delightful. It honestly felt like we were in a magical world—transported away from the everyday challenges of real life. The food and beverage program is the best I’ve encountered in my travels. From excellent tequila tastings (and education!) at Agave Azul, to the incredible tostadas at La Fondita, and the pitch perfect beach bites at Aqui Me Quedo—it’s clear why Rosewood Mayakoba winds up on so many “best of” lists. Zapote Bar was a special treat with finely crafted cocktails and live music that kept the party going. Visiting La Isla Secreta was a highlight and such a unique experience. We even made new friends that we have stayed in touch with—it just felt so special. Other highlights include Champagne O’clock on the beach, riding bikes to the FABULOUS spa, and the Thursday night Mexican Grill (where we ate way too many of Chef Jessica’s churros—the best we’ve ever tasted). Leaving the property was bittersweet—there is some sort of magic at every turn while you’re there. You just can’t put your finger on it. The thoughtfulness behind every decision is so very apparent as a guest, and yet the entire staff made every detail seem effortless. I have no doubt that an immense amount of planning and communication goes into every guests’ stay, so I would just like to say THANK YOU and BRAVO!! We will be back again and again.

My two adult daughters and I just returned from 3 nights at the Rosewood Mayakoba. We had spent the first 4 nights at the Andaz next door (our third trip there) and the Rosewood is incomparable. The suites at the Rosewood are huge and well appointed. There is a peaceful, serene vibe. The service is outstanding. Our butler Valeria went above and beyond to procure for us things in our room that we wanted to buy as souvenirs. The only downside is that they tried to charge me an extra $100 per night for having 3 people in the room. The room is listed as accommodating 4 people (and, again, is huge) so I thought it was a money grab for the extra $100. They ended up waiving the fee but I was not without a big negotiation at the beginning of the stay. But while things started off on a sour note, the rest of our stay was perfect. I highly recommend the spa, Zapote, and Aqui Me Quedo and the entire adult beach area. We will definitely be returning soon (but Rosewood please get rid of the extra occupancy charge—it is so tacky).

As an architect, I found the design of this hotel utterly captivating. The seamless blend of form and function, the thoughtful use of space and light - it was a feast for the senses. Every element seemed purposeful, from the ergonomic furniture to the intuitive layout. The integration of local materials and cultural motifs was particularly impressive, grounding the modern structure in its environment. ❤️ For those who appreciate the art of architecture, this hotel is nothing short of a masterpiece.

As a frequent business traveler, I've experienced my fair share of hotels. This establishment, however, stands out for its attention to detail and commitment to guest satisfaction. The check-in process was efficient, the room was well-appointed with all necessary amenities, and the Wi-Fi speed was exceptional. The on-site restaurant offered a diverse menu suitable for various dietary requirements. The fitness center, while compact, was adequately equipped for a good workout. Overall, this hotel offers excellent value for business travelers seeking comfort and convenience.

We’ve been to rosewood Mayakoba many times. We’ve been there during a hurricane, perfect weather, rainy weather, stayed in small rooms, huge houses and beachfront suites. Every. Single. Time. We are beyond amazed at the service and genuine feeling of being “cared for” by family. This last trip was a doozy; my daughter got very sick. She was likely already sick when we arrived, but the symptoms didn’t really kick in until we’d been there a full two days as she seemed to slowly weaken as the hours went by. Based on her symptoms, the doctor believed it was a virus, not food poisoning. The Rosewood staff literally supported us around the clock, and I mean the entire night sending a doctor to our suite at 4am who was able to swiftly lighten her symptoms and set her up on the road to recovery with the support of the Rosewood staff. I remember being scared during hurricane Zeta and I had that same feeling when my young daughter fell ill in a foreign country, both events at our beloved Rosewood Mayakoba. Both times I remember having a good cry when it was over thinking how truly blessed we were to have had it happen at the Rosewood if it had to happen. They literally are trained to handle absolutely anything and with the ultimate kindness and gentleness. Omar & Martin, our butlers, treated us like (highly trained) caring family! There was literally nothing they wouldn’t do to help us. I will never forget how grateful I felt and feel. We still had the most amazing vacation, despite the challenges.
