Excellent Food - Loved the atmosphere - Staff friendly - lots of places to shop. The weather was perfect for April!! This was the first time we have been to an all inclusive resort in our 35 years of marriage and would definitely go again. Helpful hint - on the restaurants that you can sign up for in the evening, you can order as much as you want. You are not limited to 1 entre, appetizer. So, if you feel like feasting on appetizers versus a full blown meal, you can!! I am a food critic and this is one of the reason why i picked this place due to all the raves/reviews of the food. We drank and ate to our hearts content - this was an amazing trip!

Sure there are fancier resorts, private shuttles, more restaurants, etc…. But there are no resorts with the staff that can surpass Playacar Palace when it comes to personal, friendly and over the top service! From Carmen and Karen in public relations to Roberto, David, Selena, Manuela, Israel, Alexander Ingrid and THE MOST EXCELLENT Elvia in wait staff, outstanding Daniel and Eric and Ana in entertainment and chefs Giovanni and Jonathan all were exceptional and allowed us to enjoy our segunda casa for 10 blissful days. The food in all locations was excellent, our room was kept in perfect order, the drinks, entertainment and pool area was fantastic, and the We have stayed at many of the other Palace and Hard Rock locations and find we love the experience at Playacar Palace. Senior David Rubino has built a marvelous staff of caring attentive people who genuinely want to make your stay memorable. Thank you all for a very memorable visit! Hope to see you all again soon. We are already planning our return for later this year, hopefully for 2 weeks!

Nice resort, awesome location to Playa Del Carmen, great views of the ocean and an easy ocean to swim in. If you want to be near town and not “stuck” on the resort nightly this is a great place. Service was excellent - always easy to get a drink at pool, service to room, etc. Not a huge pool by any means and we didn’t love that it’s not an adults-only resort- but still a nice trip.

Playacar Palace is a really clean and well-maintained resort with the nicest staff! They give amazing service and treat you like you're part of their family. Whether you're at the front desk, in your room, by the pool, or at the bars and restaurants, everyone is super focused on making sure you have a great time.

I loved the central location yet still relaxing atmosphere at Playacar Palace. The cafe was a favourite and we enjoyed visiting the Cozumel Palace for the day where same privileges applied. Dining options were good and provided enough opportunity for variety across our week stay. One criticism is the cool temperature of the rooms which persists even when the aircon is turned off - apparently a fan is constantly on the reduce humidity build up in the rooms. The beach, although rough, was preferred by our children (12 and 9) but we ended each day in the pool and spa watching the sun go down- really idyllic! All in all, a great stay.

Pros - close to 5th Ave shopping, close to ferry to Cozumel, good restaurants with good service in them, good pool service, available reservations for dinner, front desk staff good, cleaning crew great
Cons - no beach-just pool, not a fan of the process after check-in where they try and pressure you to sit down with them and talk about the resort, credits and setting an appointment for them to sell you on time-share weeks-especially after a long day of travel, morning buffet service is terrible if you want to drink anything other than coffee and then they give it to you once and you never see them again, don't ask for anything else, because you won't get it, check-out process comes with the hard sell to come back again for a promotional offer.

This was my 4th time at playacar palace. Service was awesome. Eder, Aaron and Marvin took care of everything. Daniella was great at pool Service for cocktails. Charlie in the sales office is kind and considerate. The staff did everything they could to take care of everyone, since it was Easter holiday and very busy.
