Hacienda Real del Caribe Hotel

After Trip rescheduled my flight 2 days before the flight, I wasn’t able to modify my hotel booking because it was past my cancellation date, I repeatedly called for the following 2 days without any action by Trip. Finally I called the hotel and explained what happened and I wasn’t able make my arrival. After hearing my situation, Stephanie from the hotel was able to modify my reservation internally to my new arrival date. I want thank her and the Hotel for valuing me as a guest. Trip kept contacting me that they unable to make any changes after I had already checked in on my new arrival date. Hacienda Real Del Caribe is #1 . This hotel is perfectly located on a block away from the main *****. You can hear the music carry over from nearby bars but that didn’t bother me, it’s expected in a location like this. Upon checking in they give you a tv remote and tell you not to move the thermostat. The AC was fixed to run all night and did not have an automatic feature, so it made for extremely cold nights. The reason I lowered the rating is the customer service. You are given only two towels and there was no hand towels at all. I tried calling the front desk but nobody answered the 6 times I called. I had to go down and grab one myself where I was asked to sign one out. No big deal. However, the following day housekeeping took this towel and never replaced it. I hope I don’t get charged for a small hand towel

Room size was big and also the location is perfect if you want to enjoy night life of Playa. We loved it.

We were not explained how to use the key for the lights in the bathroom. No a/c because we didn't know how to use the key
