If you want to pay 5 star/diamond price, but have the managers at a 1 star level…this is the resort for you. The ACs do not work in most areas… this is Not something they can fix… the units are very outdated. However, the resort knows this… pretends that they don’t or that it’s new. It isn’t new. Read reviews. If you pay for a 2 level 3BR and 3 Ba suite and are happy with sleeping on couches, as bedroom is too hot… this is the resort for you - there is No air coming from the ductwork in the upstairs bedroom. It’s not a “hey it’s hot in Mexico thing”. It’s the units no longer work… right next door to the bedroom is the living room. Wonderfully cold. All we asked for was a fan. What a Simple solution. The female manager on 6/9/2024, who had no interest in Introducing herself to us, is not a problem solver… she is not interested in Making things right. She plays the game of turning on her cell phone flashlight and looking at the thermostat and then walks away. I had to call out to her and stop her to ask what the plan was. None. No plan. Just shrugs her shoulder and calls us rude that we are fed up with this revolving door way of handling this issue. We have met many other guest… check your bill before leaving. One of the couples we just met, and are leaving had all of the stated issues. Ironically she has worked over 20 years of Costco travel … and the reviews of this resort keep going downward. They won’t be back. She won’t recommend it either. However, on complaint #3 on the base of our suites MBR toilet leaking… They are finally fixing it and the entire toilet has to be replaced Thester is so outdated Exposed wires on the lawn has yet to be fixed… day # 3 we have seen this So keep in mind they have no ability to fix the AC Keep in mind the Managers do not wish to rectify this. We went to Walmart after 9 and my husband had and spent $147 USD on 2 fans. So today they say “oh we found a fan for you”… where is it? If this were a true statement wouldn’t they have just brought it to the suite that is in the same building? No. They knew we. And in about 10pm with 2 fans. The management , of all levels, just lies. Some people have no AC problems or got one of the few fans early on… so their reviews are more positive… The female manager from 6/9/2024 just shrugged when asked if she was okay with guest, who booked one of the largest suites, were sleeping on couches in the living room. - she wouldn’t even have customer service at its most basic level. She should be fired. Barcelo resorts will never be booked y this family again. And, as stated in the first review, it’s only fair to post the same number of reviews per American $ (or pesos) charged at this resort. Including the the nearly $600 in “eco system tax”, and of course the 2 fans we purchased. When we leave, the fans will go to our transportation company… not left here for this management. This is about 15th review, on 8 different sites… quite a few more to go
