The hotel is at a good location. We booked a higher category room. It was full of mosquitoes. on putting 3 all outs also, the mosquitoes were biting. we complained so ***y times. We even asked for refund on day 2 to be able to change hotel, it wasn't given. Except for the location, there are hardly any facilities in the property. The restaurant had too much of sea-food smell. Being a pure vegetarian, I could not have anything there.

Was a last minute plan and we were indeed lucky to get the basic room here. Elegantly furnished and clean. Staff are also polite and courteous. Swimming pool is located in the 4th floor and we'll maintained. No baby pool. Location is too good, you can simply walk to the rock beach. Breakfast is also simple and good. Would love to visit again if maintained well.

We had booked this hotel for our anniversary trip to Pondicherry. Everything about this hotel is adorable, a heritage bunglow that takes you back in time as you enter the place and start soaking in the calmness and beauty of the place! If you like staying in mid range heritage places, you will love this place. The location of this hotel is very good and well connected to some of the iconic landmarks of this town. The hotel also helped us in arranging scooty's / scooters on rent which were delivered at the hotel doorstep. The promenade and the beach are at walking distance and so are some very good restaurants. Our check in experience was very smooth, the staff at the hotel is very courteous and will help you at every step in case you need guidance in and around the hotel. The rooms are well kept, warm and has beautiful balconies where you can just relax and unwind looking at the serene street view of the picturesque white town. This hotel has a restaurant and a pool on the rooftop which also offers a great view. The restaurant food is very good and so is the service. We loved staying at this property and will surely return to stay again. We thank the hotel staff to make this a memorable stay!

The hotel is perfectly located close to Pondicherry station and an easy stroll. Pondy being a grid pattern the location then makes it easy to get everywhere without becoming lost. The hotel itself is gorgeous. My room was just lovely. Comfortable king sized bed, a/c and fan with nice furniture. Lovely bathroom that had a retro feel while being quite modern. The breakfast is very nice and served in the restaurant on the roof. I really recommend this place.

Charming small hotel with a great location, very nice restaurant, decent pool and lovely rooms. This hotel is located right at the southern end of Suffren Street, so in the heart of white town, close to everything but still peaceful. We paid extra for a balcony room and it was worth it, lovely views and nice quiet spot to chill out and relax after days sightseeing.

Petit Palais is in a historic colonial house in White Town, very close to seaside promenade and good French restaurants. The rooms were clean and comfortable with spartan wood furnishings — nothing luxe and no chic design touches that are common at boutique hotels elsewhere in White Town/French colonial area of Pondicherry. A/C was not central like in upscale places but a wall unit common to guest houses. Nice pool on roof deck but eating area on deck was very basic, no effort was put into nice furniture or any lighting or ambiance. Breakfast was fine but limited — timing was only 8-10am and the buffet kept running out of food. There was only one nice but overworked waiter staffing so we had to keep informing him when food containers were empty so he could go to the kitchen to refill. They had run out of pongal and idlis completely by 930am but we overheard someone else order dosa and we did the same. Staff was nice and packed us USa breakfast bag to go on our second day when we left early. All of this is in keeping with a clean, upscale guest house which would’ve been great for $50 to $75 a night. But we were charged the price of a boutique hotel (nearly $150/night) — way too much for such a modest place. If you can get it cheaper, fine. But we felt overcharged. Pros: location, clean, pool, nice staff. Cons: overpriced for dates we stayed

We asked them for a modification of dates or cancellation with a waiver since the state of TN and Pondicherry was placed on orange alert owing to an upcoming cyclone. The staff rudely shut us off saying “it was not their policy”. So I guess the safety of their patrons is not a policy. I have never spoken to someone so rude in the “hospitality” business! I am glad I didn’t choose to stay with them!

The rooms look rather big in the pictures and when you got there you realise how small there are. The service is really terrible, plus the staff are not even listening when you give them feedback- he actually had the audacity to attend to a call while I was talking and didnt even ask me to wait for him to finish the call. They charged me 10k per night, its not even worth 5k, its at max a very basic place and not even near a star hotel to charge 10k. I am not the one to write reviews, but this place is a rip off. Also, they charged 1,500 rupees for an extra bed and they literally had no space to even place the bed in the room. Finally when I checked out, they didnt make the entire bill- i asked the receptionist if i should pay for extra bed alone, since I had booked through *********** and they generally charge my credit card and I ended up paying only for the extra bed, only later to get a call that i hadnt paid to 20k for two nights. The food, a basic dal tasted like water. Overall, id never recommend this place to anyone. Highly overrated

I recently went to Pondicherry and booked a family suite with them, thinking its really a suite(2 bedrooms) and it costed me 50k for 2 nights ***** with my parents. After booking i just called them and tried to confirm the booking upon which they mentioned that there is only one bathroom in the suite. What a disappointment it was but still as we already made up our mind we decided to go ahead thinking the bathroom would be common and can be used by 4 adults (me, my wife, and my parents). We did not know there is another surprise waiting for us. Upon reaching we found that the only bathroom was inside one bedroom and for the people in the other bedroom, it was impossible to access if the room is closed from inside. My parents were hesitant using the bathroom in the night with me and my wife in the bedroom with the bathroom. When we talked to the hotel staff and asked why this detail was not mentioned on the website , they said we don't mention these details on the website. I replied that the website has even the towel which is given mentioned , why not this detail? After paying 50k for 2 nights, my parents had to go to a floor above in the night for the bathroom. What a terrible experience it had been. Super overpriced rooms (they charge like 5star hotel) with below average facilities (i have been to ***y 5 stars hotel with less price). Below average food, not a single other facility except a swimming pool on the roof which no one can use because it's so hot. Pathetic, terrible , horrifying experience. Please don't think that the customers are fools. You put the suite up for booking when the de***d is high so that you can fool the customers who doesn't have enough details and get as much as money from them. Before you call it a suite , go and check how suite looks like.
