Antelope by Greene King Inns

Our room at the Antelope was very nice and the staff were very attentive. Sadly our breakfast experience wasn’t good at all. I really don’t like to complain and didn’t like saying anything to the lovely lady who was our server that morning. She was so nice and professional and unfortunately it was the breakfast chef that badly let her down that morning. Firstly our lady server was given the wrong table number breakfasts from the breakfast chef which should have been for our table. When the error was realised she apologised and said that our breakfast would be out shortly. When we received our breakfast from the kitchen my sausages, bacon and tomato weren’t cooked, my egg was broken, and the toast wasn’t even brown. My husband’s bacon also wasn’t cooked and his eggs weren’t either. This was such a shame after having had a very pleasant stay at the Antelope. We felt that the breakfast staff let the remainder of the staff down.

Nice hotel in Poole, about halfway between the railway station and the ferry terminal so perfect for those catching the early ferry. We arrived late evening but they were excellent at seating us and giving a meal before last orders in the kitchen. Bed was comfortable and we slept well

This is not the plushest of hotels and decor and repairs really need seeing to BUT, it's was clean and the beds were the most comfortable I've ever slept in whilst away and thought into a duvet, it was a double duvet on a single bed, so you didn't spend the night chasing the duvet. The room was warm as well. In total, if I was in Poole again, this is where I would stay.

Brilliant stay at the antelope we had a very large room with plenty of space al lovely shower and a lovely big TV on wall there is tea and coffee in the room . and the breakfast was very lovely and great choice on the menu especially the salmon and scrambled eggs were our favourite and we had them every day all the food was presented very well and a big thank you for the staff for there kindness and a big thank you to the cleaners for a lovely clean room and spotless they did a fantastic job😃we will come back again soon for a another holiday 😃😃

We decided on a last minute night away from the daily stresses of home and usually use Travelodge or premier inn in Poole. Today they were fully booked so chose the Antelope via *********** on check in we were greeted by a characteristic young man who certainly put a smile on our face. We checked in, went to our room and showered and went into town. We had a couple of drinks and decided to go back to the Antelope to eat. We returned to the hotel to be greeted by Derek who is the most polite and respectful bartender you could ever imagine. We ordered Halloumi fries and prawn & avocado as starters and Abbot ale pie and sirloin steak with a Wexford peppercorn, mushroom & Stilton sauce as mains. All the food was nothing less than disgustingly gorgeous. We were very surprised at the cost of our meal and felt like we were in a high end restaurant. We had better food here tonight with amazing flavour compared to miller and carter on Monday. The staff here went over and above to make sure we were happy with multiple check backs and making conversation. The room is clean and has everything you need with a super comfortable mattress. Special mention to, Derek, Connor, Callum, Grace & Alex for making our evening nothing less. Than perfect. All the staff were like family and we definitely will make this our new bolt hole. It's was good to stay in a hotel right in the centre of Poole. It's what I call a creaky floor hotel. Very old and creaky, but with character as a result. Not the most comfortable bed ever, but the ensuite had a bath and shower. The staff we met were great. Reasonable rates when we stayed. Probably more in the season, but if you want a hotel yards from Poole Quay it's ideal. There's no parking, but two multi storeys were less than ten minutes walk and not too expensive. Pay on exit.

Well located and easy to find Smooth friendly check in with efficient staff buzzing about being helpful and pleasant. Rooms are spacious enough but in need of a refresh which continues throughout the entire building. Quite a few indications that there are a few leaks coming in from above with visible waters stains. We paid extra for the breakfast but was well worth the money with a good variety of fruits, cereals, yoghurt ,juice as much toast as you wanted and plenty of hot options to choose from. We all had the full English which was served piping hot and was a tasty breakfast by the really pleasant waitress on hand at all times. The bar area is popular and reasonably priced and a friendly atmosphere. We have stayed before and will definitely return.Thanks to the staff for making our stay comfortable.
