I booked the tower room for family of 3 adults and 2 children. We checked in at 4.30pm and I noted that the amenities e.g. towels, slippers etc were only for 2 person. I called house keeping and they told me that they will only be able to send the additional towels and others by 1730. We waited till 1800 but still no staff showed up. Frustrated, we decided to go to the beach hoping that when we return, our request would have arrived.
We came back from the beach at 1900 and yet nothing received. At this point, I called house keeping and insisted that they send over immediately. Thankfully, it came in less than 10 mins.
The next horror was the water heater, both the shower and bath had no hot water. Imagine being with kids and just back from the beach - everyone was wet and cold. No choice, we had to endure to shower with cold water.
I later went down to the reception and told them of my experience. One of the lady in charged, offered to change our room.
Thankfully the new room had working hot water and the towels, bottled water etc were the right count. Nonetheless, repacking and unpacking with kids was not a happy experience.
In terms of cleanliness, I will give it a decent pass. This is an old hotel/resort but you can still see that the owners do upkeep/ restore- e.g. interior walls are repainted and windows/curtains are kept clean. As mentioned, this is an old resort/hotel so don’t have high expectations. I appreciate that it was relatively clean as I have experienced much worst 4/5 stars resorts in PD. Personally, I think if you want to go to PD - just got for Lexis as the safest bet.
Value for money - yes
Breakfast was decent; continental and local. There is also an egg station. And the manager was present making sure everything was in order. Staff were ample and plates/tables were cleaned regularly.
Overall score: 3/5
