Overall a good experience. Take note of other reviewers, you need to check in at the hotel that's diagonally across the street. Once check in is complete, head diagonally across the street. The door that everyone says is difficult to find is located between the restaurant and the market on the corner. We had some problems on arrival: 1. Our code did not work. It was evening, dark, raining and we had to go back and forth. 2. Our a/c didn't work in the bedroom - shouldn't be an issue in winter, but the heavy shutters would not allow a window to be open. And, it's noisy. Had to have maintenance come and fix the next day. 3. Oh yeah, our window didn't open. 4. Pull out bed was opened and too heavy to close, so we weren't able to use it as a couch. The positives - Candida was amazing at trying to make things better. She is very sweet and really went above and beyond to make things right. The location is also perfect and very central to the city. The negatives - Joana. Honestly, it was already a trying to start to our stay, but the next morning when we went to the front desk to review what Candida had told us, Joana feigned ignorance. I asked her to review our reservation that Candida made notes, and Joana said she didn't see anything and asked what our problems are. When I had go through the lengthy list of problems, to which she responded, "yes, I am familiar with the a/c issue." So, she knew, but was putting us through difficulties needlessly. There's more, but this was enough. Although we encountered the attitude of Joana, we felt that overall, once our problems were resolved, that this was an ideal place. Sometimes things go wrong and it's more about resolving the issues that deserves credit, and we feel that Candida represents the true customer service aspect of this hotel.
