Lovely quiet and comfortable hotel in the centre of a beautiful city.

Check-in was excellent - we tried to check-in very early and the room wasn’t ready, but the kind reception staff promised to call us when it was ready. It was ready around 1pm and we were called as promised. Check-in was very easy and fast. The receptionist was extremely helpful in offering to book us a taxi to the airport that would pick us up from the front of the hotel (other taxis/ubers are not allowed on the rua de Flores street) and she even offered a box breakfast since we would leave before the daily breakfast was offered. The Classic Room was small, but not tiny and while everything was decently appointed it was disappointing not to have slippers and bathrobes. The biggest disappointment was the bed which was hard and not comfortable and which consisted of two singles pushed together which created a gap no matter how hard they were pushed together. The TV also didn’t seem to work as intended in terms of setting smart features like a sleep timer. On the positive side the air conditioned worked very well and quickly and the rainfall shower was great (great pressure and temperature control). The pool, gym, and sauna were all tiny (but most hotels in the area probably don’t have these amenities) amenities, appeared usable, but not particularly inviting and you would have to inform the front desk to turn on the sauna at least an hour ahead of time. Check-out was easy/smooth, the breakfast boxes and taxi were available as promised and on time and it was clear there was excellent communication between the day shift and overnight shift at reception. Highly recommend using their taxi service for the airport as it was extremely convenient to be picked up from the front doors, reliable, and only a few euros more than taking an Uber (30 euros at 6am). The location of the hotel can’t be beat. We wished the room, especially the bed, was better. There are other hotels nearby which provide more value and are located close enough so given all the above we would probably lean toward other options, but if the rates are competitive the location and service do make this a decent option.

The hotel is located right in the centre of the old town and provides a great base from which to explore. Although the area is busy during the day and evening, it was quiet at night. The hotel ws beautifully presented with well appointed rooms and lovely, helpful staff. Nothing not to like!

The check-in staff, lounge bar staff, cleaning staff and restaurant/breakfast room employees were all wonderful! They made our stay magical; they were so attentive, considerate and genuinely happy to make our stay as comfortable as possible. We will be returning for sure!

I wanted so much to give this hotel 5 stars, unfortunately I have to give it 3. It is beautifully furnished, the spa is great, and the staff are great, however the sound proofing is terrible. Our last night we got no sleep due to people being loud above us, we moved room and then had more noise beside us. It looks like it was recently refurbished, however no attention was giving to sound proofing, as you can hear conversation word for word between rooms. If this were fixed it would be an excellent hotel.
