A very comfortable stay. Very friendly and helpful staff. Couldn't fault the breakfast. We have stayed a number of times before and will definitely be back.

Friendly reception, very clean, superb breakfast, great hotel, our only criticism was the room lighting was very poor. The bulbs must have been ultra low wattage.

The parent-child room is large enough, and the twin rooms inside are also quite good.

Lovely hotel, staff were very welcoming and helpful. Family room was excellent with double bed in main room and two single beds in an adjoining room. Carpet was a little tired, but nothing major. Bedding was spotless and very comfortable Food was lovely and breakfast great
Response from Property: Thank you for your lovely review. I am delighted you had an enjoyable stay. We look forward to welcoming you back soon.

This hotel offers good value . The front has been tidied since my last visit and looks a whole lot better. The staff are kind and accommodating The rooms are a tad on the small side , but well presented clean and relaxing. The bathrooms are very modern and new with excellent water pressure and temperature. The gym is excellent as always. Breakfast is acceptable but not the best, choice is limited and not the best quality. I also like the fact you can open the windows and not just rely on air con that the hotel does not have, fresh air so much better The staff really make this place as it is now an independent hotel I hope it does not get bought by a chain and lose its identity. The only problem I do have is for some reason the hotel attracts undesirables. Woken up every night by loud mouth drunks, smell of **** in corridor. I guess if you stay in a competitively priced hotel this may happen, Would I return , maybe? just bad luck with other guests , i guess.
Response from Property: Thank you for your detailed review. I am delighted to hear that on the whole you enjoyed your stay. It is lovely to read that you were happy with the service provided by staff. it is our aim to make very guest feel as welcome as possible from the moment they arrive to the moment they leave.

Staff very friendly and helpful with any requests, food great (had evening meal and breakfast). Rooms were clean and in good order. Location Ideal for the one night spent there on way north for a visit. Would recommend this hotel for a stay if in the area.

I had a terrible experience in the restaurant, I ordered and then waited 45 minutes for my meal. The young lad behind the bar seemed embarrassed and I was told that the chef was cooking my meal, however there was only 4 other guests in there at the time. Once it came it was stone cold in the middle, I sent it back and then waited another 20 minutes for my meal. Unfortunately it was inedible, probably the worst meal I have had in a hotel. I travel the country every week and this was terrible. The only thing I can say is that the room was ok, the lift was broken but I was told about this on check in, the hotel is clearly undergoing some renovations. Breakfast was ok at best, overcooked and a strange taste to the mushrooms. The only thing that salvaged my stay was Liz who listened to my complaints and she was sympathetic and understanding, she went out of her way to make sure the remainder of my stay went well and made a point of coming speaking to me the day after remembering my name and checking I was ok. I did refuse to eat there on my second evening, my only suggestion would be to get a chef that can actually cook.

I would not recommend this hotel in a million years. We booked a family room (we have two small children) and double room (for nana) in August 2023 for a family wedding in September 2024. They called us up the day before the wedding to cancel the family room as it was double booked. We began to search for alternative arrangements only to be called again to be offered a suite and the double room - great. That evening, however, we were called to be told that the suite shouldn’t have been offered to us - and that the double room was now unavailable too! We had the booking for over 365 days and we were given less than 12 hours notice of cancellation. We could have booked alternative arrangements in the afternoon but didn’t as we were proactively given another phantom room. The guy who called us up to cancel the second time was completely blasé. We’ve been offered no compensation or explanation for the repeated errors. At least you got to stay in the room at Fawlty Towers.
Response from Property: Thank you for your feedback, please accept my apologies for the service you received. The team have been spoken to and I would like to stress this is not our usual standard of customer service. Again, please accept my apologies.

Great food, and a good choice of dishes. We had a good night's sleep. Staff very pleasant, and helpful. Rooms are pleasant and basic. Just be careful, when using the hand basin, square basin, and fast tap, leading to water over flow. Easy to use door key.
Response from Property: Thank you for your lovely review. I am delighted to hear that you had an enjoyable stay with us. I hope you get the chance to visit us soon.

I stayed there with my partner overnight and reserved a table on booking a few weeks previously. On arrival we were informed the restaurant was closed for the weekend. Why were we not informed of this earlier? We then had to make other arrangements for food and the girl on the front desk didn't seem to know what day it was. First and last time of staying.
Response from Property: I am sorry to hear of your recent experience. I must apologise for the service you received and that you were not informed of the restaurant closure prior to your visit.
