The hotel itself was ok, the maid service was brilliant, the reception staff on the other hand wow, rude and obnoxious to name a few. Ignored at reception multiple times, heard them shouting and the maids on many occasions, I was approached in a very confrontational way one morning and asked "did I read the sign" I replied no sorry which sign? " YES YOU DID I SAW YOU LOOK AT IT" at that point I knew this was the last time I'd ever come here. All seemed to hate their job, Shame really

We were sent to the hotel as the original hotel we booked was closed due to renovation and what a great find The rooms in this hotel are spacious and airy with large balconies - we will definitely return We had bed and breakfast so had our breakfast at the Island Affair restaurant attached to hotel which was very tasty and freshly cooked every morning All staff at the hotel were great - friendly and welcoming Pool was lovely and cleaned every day - plenty of sunbeds and umbrellas available Would recommend and will be back in the future

Brillant 1 week stay at the Melini Hotel. Room lovely with a small kitchen microwave 2 hob cooker and fridge. Not that we did any cooking as like eating out. Lovely view from the balcony Room 410. bathroom had a great shower over the bath. Good storage for your clothes. Rooms were cleaned almost every day and to a very high standard. Towels and sheets also. Staff were very welcoming on our arrival we had a slight problem getting into the safe and the lady on reception came straight up and sorted it for us. We have visited Cyprus on numerous occasions and have had good accomodation but Melini is definitely our favourite and would not hesitate to stay again when returning to Protaras.

Been going to Protaras for over 20 years but the first time staying at the Melini. The hotel is perfectly located in the middle of the *****. The hotel is very clean and rooms are of a high standard. The staff are all very polite and helpful. We stayed for 5 nights and had a room on the 6th floor overlooking the ***** and sea. The room was a studio with a lovely roomy bathroom with bath and shower. The kitchenette was modern and had everything you need although we did not use it. There is Aircon which is free to use but you can only turn it on and off everything else is controlled by the hotel. There was 2 single beds and a sofa which can be made into a small double. Personally the beds were very hard and uncomfortable for me. The hotel did provide me with a mattress topper and extra pillows but it didn’t really make much difference. But not everybody likes the same firmness of beds so they cannot please everyone. When the door to the balcony is open you can hear the noise from the surrounding bars but once closed it isn’t an issue. The pool is on the small side and if you want to sunbathe you do need to get a bed near to the side of the ice cream parlour and bar otherwise you only get the sun until around midday (Oct). There are plenty of sunbeds but I can imagine in the height of the season it would be very busy but it’s only a short walk to the beach and the sea was warmer than the pool when we was there. I would definitely recommend this hotel and would go back again in the future.

One bedroomed apar**ent was very clean and large for 2 people, bathroom was large with walk in shower although not a lot of storage space for toiletries etc. View from the large balcony was amazing. We arrived very late on the 30th September but reception were friendly and gave us the safe key although we didn't pay for it or the deposit until the next day. We didn't bother with the TV remote control which is provided on receipt of a small deposit. Surprisingly the air con was included in our package price so a big bonus. Although the apar**ents are classed as self catering they are quite limited as although there is a microwave, toaster, kettle and 2 ring hob the apar**ent had 1 large saucepan ( not very clean ), a stainless steel bowl and a chopping board plus tin opener and some plastic utensils. There were plenty of plates and cutlery plus a tea pot but the bowls were shallow similar to pasta bowls so not suitable for cooking scrambled eggs in the microwave. Might be worth considering packing a couple of plastic bowls and a jug. Towels and bed linen were of a good quality and were changed several times during our 11 night stay but again pack a tea towel and dish cloth as they aren't provided. Other reviewers have mentioned the beds - they are on the firm side but we soon became accustomed and slept well even with the music from the sports bar which has also been mentioned on the couple of nights we retired early as had trips booked so didn't want to be up late. The swimming pool is deep - again as mentioned but I did manage to cool off as I'm a non swimmer also on the short side. Sunbeds weren't particularly comfortable although this didn't stop people hanging around 5 minutes before the pool area officially opened to put towels on the sunbeds at 8am, this is could be due to the pool area being partly in the shade from late morning. We did find this very frustrating however it wasn't just the pool area but people were on the beaches shortly after 7am to secure sunbeds - I assume partly because the beaches are much smaller after the storms earlier this year. The pool bar staff were very accommodating as were the staff in the restaurant which we only used a couple of times. There is also an ice cream outlet which has lots of choice and we did enjoy. Location of the Melini Hotel Suites are excellent, right on the ***** and a short walk to 2 beaches and the bus stops to Ayia Napa or other local towns. We won't return to Cyprus but I would recommend Melini Hotel Suites with the proviso that you may eat out more than you anticipated although there's lots of choice including the well known fast food restaurants that we are all very familiar with although we didn't choose to check out.

would definitely recommend and look forward to returning! the apar**ent was spacious, clean and very comfortable. included aircon/wifi. staff were helpful and was able to arrange late checkout/luggage storage. fantastic location right on the ***** and easy walking distance to fig tree bay. only negative - we were on first floor overlooking the back of Rockafellas so it was noisy in the evenings with the entertainment - we would absolutely return, but request a high floor. we didn’t use the pool as we went to the beach everyday but FYI at this time of year the shade kicked in over the pool mid-afternoon if that’s your preference. and … the most trivial of trivial things … a dust pan / brush and a draining rack in the apar**ents would be great!

We have returned from a great family holiday, 2 adults and 2 teenagers during the school holidays. We travelled peak season so it was busy and the hotel was full. When we first arrived we were give a room on the 6th floor overlooking the pool area and with great sea views. The one bedroom apar**ent was a great size with ample storage space for our clothes including the wardrobe in the hallway for my 2 childrens clothes. I didn't realise that the living room had a double sofa bed and not 2 singles or 2 sofa beds. Given that my son is 15 and my daughter is 13 there was no way they would share a bed so i called reception and as it was late they said they would put bring a fold up bed in the morning, which they did and all was fine after that. The apar**ents are very well equipped with air-con in both rooms. Our cleaner was amazing, such a lovely and helpful lady. The first morning i woke up between 6-7am as i usually do and i went down to the pool area and read my book, this worked well for me as I'm an early riser and due to the kids sleeping in the living room i got too enjoy some peace and quiet and sunshine until my family wake up and join me. On approx. our 6th day this changed and the new rules stated that the pool area would be closed until 8 am. This was quite upsetting as it meant i could not sit by the pool with my book peacefully. I agree people should not be able to reserve beds if they are not sitting on them but if im sitting on the beds ive reserved then i should be allowed to do so? Other than that i had no issues or negatives with the hotel only a positive experience in a really well kept, spotless family run hotel. A special mention to Stavroulla who helped my two old sons with their bookings and special requests and also the great reception staff who were great. The pool bar staff were great, the food was delicious and my kids enjoyed a daily crepe or waffle. Thank you to all at The Melini Hotel Suites and Island Affair Restaurant.

Arrived late Friday night. English guy on the desk checked us in. We had a disabled room as booked late (2 weeks before), this was very spacious and at the front of the hotel overlooking the entrance. We were very happy with the room size etc, only issue was that the shower was a wet room and had no screen/curtain, so we had to mop up every time we had a shower. Not a massive issue, though. Location of this hotel is great we have been coming to Protaras for years and stayed on the ***** a couple of times which is ideal for bars, restaurants, and the beach, which is just across the road. Hotel staff were mostly English and helpful. The maid came in 5 days and changed towels, bins, etc, which was great. We did not get around the pool once due to lack of space and sunbeds, which wasn't great. Ended up going to the beach or another hotel to use theirs. Overall, it was a great stay, couldn't fault staff or cleanliness of the hotel. Definitely recommend and definitely stay again.
