From check in to check out it was as a great experience. The beach is beautiful. Food and drinks were great. The place is clean and comfortable. This is the third time my husband and I stay here and we will definitely return.

The Blue Jack Tar resort is well past its prime. The grounds are dated and dirty. Significant upgrades are needed to make the resort up to standard. Virtually all of the staff only speak Spanish, and will ignore anything you attempt to ask them. The overall safety of the facility is questionable at best. We felt in danger on occasion. This is not a report that we would stay in again.

The jacuzzi and coffee pot in the room didn’t work. The staff was nice and provided extra water free of charge.
Restaurant on site is good. Only stayed one night, would choose somewhere else in Puerto Plata next time. Playa Dorada seemed run down. Breakfast was included and that was good.
