Ocean El Faro Resort - All Inclusive

This hotel have terrible employees especially supervisor not even friendly very rude disrespectful we had problems with our reservation because for somehow the third party did not inform the hotel that we had 2 kids so the supervisor of the hotel that night called Carlos refused to let us check in if we do not pay them kids as adults as it was as triple price that we paid so we had to go checked in to another hotel for them to find out with their reservation teams due to the fact that we came late so the next day this same supervisor and other staff did not even apologise and talk to us as we are nobody so disappointed and disrespectful not even try to give us discount or accommodate us Very very bad place even though the decor as stunning Food was not good as had an allergic reaction after eating something which I never ever had allergies in my life

The resort itself was beautiful but there were pros and cons. More cons than I wanted. Pool closed at 6 pm so no night swimming which left little to do in the evenings. Drinks were weak, drank all day long with no effect. Food was the worst. The buffet was terrible and was really our only option since the snack bar ran out of burgers, basically lived on chips and salsa the entire trip. The restaurants which you needed to make reservations for was a joke. The reservation app didn’t work so you had to wake am up at 6 am to stand in line until 8 am in hopes of getting a reservation. The service was not pleasant. Workers badly made eye contact with you and you always felt like you were bothering them when requesting a beverage or asking a question. The resort has potential if they stopped it up on service, food, drinks and entertainment.

Wonderfull vacation at Ocean El Faro Resort. We have been to many AI resorts in the Dominican, Mexico and Jamacia. This Resort has amazing hugh pools, wonderful friendly staff through out the resort, and spacious rooms. It is a large resort and requires a bit of walking, there is some shuttle service but not nearly enough if you have difficulty walking. The bars and restaurants were lovely, food is tasty, many options, well presented, although often served cold. This is the first time I've encountered that on a regular basis through out a resort, part of the problem may be the A/C was turned up so high, the restauants were cold, especially the main buffet, we sat ouside when we could. They did provide micowaves in the buffets that we were happy to utilize. The grounds were perfect, we found the rooms, public bathrooms and public spaces to be clean and well maintained. We stayed in the El Beso (adults only) section and were delighted with the adults only restauant and two adults only pools. we never had a problem finding chairs at the pool. The lazy river is fun. The kids have a hugh pool/water slide/park. The entertainment team was a delight! We did not see the evening shows, I'm sure they have wonderful talent, but in 15 years we have seen the same shows too many times. The sea side was rocky, a lagoon located next to the property was very nice although not really part of the resort. I highly recommend this resort as long as you are able to walk some distances without difficulty.

My husband and I visited Ocean El Faro in February 2024 for our honeymoon. We had a late flight that was delayed, so we got in very late. We were recommended to get food at the Route66 restaurant as it was the only place to get food at that time of night. It was a terrible start to our trip. The staff were very rude, my husbands burger was almost entirely raw, and my chicken chipotle quesadilla was just half melted cheese on a tortilla (no chicken or sauce). When we finally got to our room there was an immediate musty damp smell. We then noticed there was blood on the bathroom wall, disgusted but exhausted we went to sleep and decided to deal with it in the morning (the bed was luckily clean). First thing in the AM I called the front desk to complain and ask for someone to come and clean the bathroom at the very least, they expressed they would send someone right away to clean. After 7 hours and 5 more phone calls we ended up finding a house keeper ourselves and asked for her to clean the bathroom. There was however black mold in the shower, all around the bathtub and on the ceiling of the bathroom as well, disappointing as we were excited to use the jetted tub. From there our stay got a little better, we had a swim up room which was really nice, the pools were very clean. The pool staff were great the first couple of days but then seemed to disappear even after we tipped generously. We ate at almost all of the A la cartes, the French, Japanese and Italian were all amazing food/atmosphere, the steakhouse was pretty good as well. The buffet was just alright, there was a wide variety depending when you wen, I would say it was better for breakfast and lunch but skip it for dinner perhaps. The beach front restaurants were confusing, as the only one we were allowed in was closed for renos but that wasn't posted or communicated anywhere. The beach was quite disappointing, our travel agent said it was swimmable but I wouldn't say it was very easily swimmable as it had a lot of sharp rocks at the entrance to the water. We found a much better beach just off the resort on the last day, which was disappointing because it was amazing, clean and crystal clear. Because it was off property they don't advertise it. The lobby bar, piano bar and the sports bar were all great, the staff were great there as well. Overall the room really put a damper on our stay and we likely would recommend this place if it wasn't for that, but the bathroom smelt awful due to the mold and poor ventilation. We were quite disappointed with the front desk staff in their lack of help with the room too. It was a very hit and miss stay, we definitely would pick somewhere different next time.

Really big property, staff was really nice only restaurant staff seemed little rude at few location's. Ocean view was amazing, Entertainment nights were fun too. Only thing I was really disappointed at we went for my friends birthday but we never got birthday cake even after asking 3 times at guest services. Everytime I will walk down to front to ask them they were like it will be coming to your room. But it never came and we had to check out without cutting her cake which was really really disappointing. Overall we had great time

My friends and I had a really great vacation at this resort! The food was good, as well as the pool and beach. The AC could have been colder and the fridge did not work in our room but we still had a great time. The bartenders are awesome as well as many of the waiters at the many different restaurants. BEWARE: The gift shop scammed me sadly. I had to buy 10 tampons for 16 USD and decided to use my credit card for the purchase. The three women working at the gift shop seemed to be talking about me in Spanish and looking me up and down. It gave me a really bad feeling. (All other resort staff were AMAZING but these ladies were very unprofessional) After a few minutes of them seeming to talk about me, I finally was able to swipe my Visa card. I left with my purchase. The next day when checking my banking app, they charged me 160 USD dollars. I went to the gift shop to discuss this, and the woman manager wouldn’t even talk to me. The two other women working could barely speak English. The one that could speak better English said that they refunded me but refused to take my card or give me a physical copy of the receipt, they only allowed me to take a photo. Keep in mind the receipt was in Spanish. They said it would come back on my card in 5-10 business days, which I did not believe but gave them the benefit of the doubt and hoped they were being honest. This was on April 10th in the morning. It is now April 28th and there has been no refund issued. This is unacceptable and I refuse to come back to the resort because of this. *DO NOT USE YOUR CREDIT CARD AT THE GIFT SHOP!*

Great service and great staff!! Very relaxing and accommodating for myself and my friends 😊 Looking forward to returning hopefully in the near future!
