Hotel Gandhara

It was a heavy tourist season this time when we visited Puri. No good hotels were available. We found it average one, but good value for money. They are nicely located closer to beach, Jaganath temple and other temples of Puri. They are very close by Harry's Cafe which is 100% Pure Veg restaurants. Rooms were old and small. Overall stay was O.K.

After looking pictures on Tripadvisor I decide to stay here but this time I was wrong. Pictures on tripadvisor or *********** or Agoda are very good but don't trust that. Very bad rooms. Quality of linens and towels were very bad. need to get new one but still it was bad. Room was smelly and dusty. also lot of noise from surrondings and also very basic facilities inside room after paying 6800 rupees for 2 nights. staff was good and also provided good service including tea and taxi service.

I stayed here for a day. Kitchen food was good and the cook at that place makes very delicious food. Great rooms, nice pool, front garden and deck area are really nice and clean. View from my room was great too with a spacious balcony which had a table and chair so that i can come out of my room and sit outside and even have food or tea there. I stayed in a deluxe room and my wife loved it the moment we arrived into the room and also wished we could extend our stay. Two things i didn't like about my stay are - 1. Hotel didn't accept my dinner order saying its time already. They never told or have anything written on the in-room menus saying that there is any last order timing for dinner. It says dinner time is till 9pm and i had called in to order by 8:58pm. And they said there is a restaurant just outside the hotel. I wanted room service from the hotel itself as the lunch i had was really good, and food tasted like home cooked food. 2. I was served peeled and cut bananas saying its fruit salad which was part of the continental menu for breakfast. When i asked them about it the ***ager gave me vague excuses. And was not interested in doing something to fix it. Overall the place is good to stay. But i wont recommend the add-on services.
