This is the most bizarre hotel I have ever stayed in. The room is not small, but the layout is messy, the furniture is old, the public area is very unhygienic, and there is basically no one to manage it. There are many long-term tenants with low quality. The location is good and the scenery is OK. Later I heard that it was a hotel with the nature of a navy club in the past.

Apart from the big house, there is nothing special. The TV is small and stuck, and there are no programs to watch. The quilt and sheets smell of cigarettes, they are old and ugly, and they don't feel clean. Apart from being able to see the sea, the car keys were lost in the East China Sea. I called the front desk, and the customer service looked impatient and had no service attitude at all. This is the worst stay experience I have had recently.

This year is the 50th anniversary of my father-in-law's retirement. He hasn't been to Qingdao for 50 years. My husband took him to visit the old place again. My father-in-law specifically mentioned the Donghai Hotel, where he was on duty.
We specially booked a room at the Donghai Hotel for them, just to remember the old man's youth.

The video I watched was inconsistent with the actual stay. Maybe the videos I watched were all room type C. The room is indeed very large and suitable for takeout and gatherings. The key is that this feels like a homestay. The mattress hygiene and basic facilities are really a mess. We later bought a disposable four-piece set. The sea view is okay, but the large floor-to-ceiling windows are not worthy of the reputation of the Internet celebrity sea view. It is a bit far to walk to the first and second bathing beaches. The first bathing beach is relatively clean and it takes about 20+ minutes to walk there. The door password is set to 123456 for me, and we don’t know how to change it yet.
